„I hope you're doing okay. Mr. Jeong complimented my sketches today, thanks to you. Can you give me some feedback on my latest drawing? - P.JS"

Nari held the neon yellow-note attached to the sketch in one hand, the carton of banana milk in the other one, smiling fondly at the small gift in her hand.
She let out a chuckle at his rather poor handwriting, thinking that it looked somewhat cute.
Almost as cute as the message written in that poor handwriting.

Her door had been closed ever since she went home to get ready for university but then had decided to just stay at home, not being able to face her friends or any other hunter after what she had witnessed.
She couldn't believe her best friends had just murdered someone without batting an eye, wether he was a demon or not.
Another shudder went down her spine at the memory.

His face had appeared over and over again as she wiped the droplets of blood off of her face. At least the hot shower had helped with the coldness that had been taking over her body.
A few hours of very much needed sleep later, she had made some instant ramen and had wrapped herself in a blanket on the small couch.

Watching some show on her laptop, she had completely ignored any calls and messages, not feeling like she'd been capable of holding conversations with anyone that day.

Nari desperately tried to come to terms with the fact that her friends were basically killers. Well, it was more of an attempt to push these thoughts away.

Did she even want to continue her hunter training?

Eventually, the girl figured she wanted to use the training for self-defense but wouldn't ever be able to kill a single demon, which could be a problem that, for now, she also decided to disregard.
At some point she would figure out a solution but that definitely wouldn't be now.

Once Nari returned to the couch, she picked up the sketch and examined it thoroughly.
Her eyes lit up at the pleasant distraction and all of her worries washed away when she saw how the boy had improved over such a short time.

The girl took some notes in order to be able to give him a detailed feedback since he made such an effort, sipping at the banana milk with a content smile tugging at her lips and soon her thoughts drifted off, reminding her of how she had felt safe around him that night.

Suddenly, she missed the feeling of warmth that the silky wing around her figure emitted, wanting to go back to that moment.
Somehow it felt paradox how the boy they tried to protect her from had taken care of her.

Nari's eyes shimmered in the gentle light that the candles surrounding her radiated, remembering how his hand had awkwardly patted her back and how he had tried to soothe her, how she had fallen asleep on his shoulder. It was a memory the young girl didn't want to let go of.

Nari decided that she couldn't keep on missing classes, feeling like it'd be hard to catch up at some point, so she forced herself to get ready for university. It meant that she would have to meet her best friends, but she tried to think positively and look forward to meeting with Jisung at the library again.
