Only Time Will Tell

It is now Saturday, aka the day I have to leave LA. I've been dreading this ever since I met Liz, I never thought I'd enjoy her presence this much. After the whole fair thing, she dropped me back off home and I made sure she was alright before she left.

I already had my bags packed and was ready to head to my flight at 10. "Alright Kev, im ready to go." I told him in a very glum tone. "Okay one second y/n!" I made Kevin and I a waffle before we left because, who doesn't eat before a plane ride?

"Time to head out!" I hear Kevin say, coming down the stairs. "Yup.." I mumble. Since I have some time to kill, I decide to go say goodbye to Scar in person. "You alright? You're very quiet." Kevin tells me. "Yeah, why wouldn't I be?" Truth was, I wasn't quiet on purpose, I kept thinking about the things I'll have to deal with when I arrive back home.

"I know you y/n. What's up?" I sigh, "I'm just nervous to get back."
"That's understandable, but you know I'm just a call away whenever you need need, got it?" I chuckle, "Got it."

We arrive at Scarlett's and I quickly hop out of the car and make my way to the door. Before I could even knock, Scarlett opens it and pulls me into a hug.

Oh, okay.

"Im gonna miss you y/n! Yes, Kevin called beforehand and told me to be ready." "That explains it then!" Me and Scarlett talk about a few things before we have to go. "And you better call me more this time ok!" " Okay Scar!" I yelled back. I hop back into the car and sigh, here we go.

The drive to the airport felt like hours. We finally parked in one of those parking garages and Kev helped me with my luggage. We got ourselves some tea, because like me, Kevin also hated coffee. Now, we're waiting in the lobby, but I could see a smirk on Kevin's face, unsure of why.

"What?" I ask him. "What are you talking about?" He tries his best to play it off. Your acting weird, why? "I don't know what you mean, y/n." "And you say I'm a bad actor. tph." I then pull out my phone to text Liz I'm at the airport.

hey Liz, jm at the airport now, and just wanted to let you know. I'll text you once I land. talk to you later!

Hmm, no reply. She usually texts fast, especially since she told me she'd be on the lookout today. Odd. I decide to also text Kara that I'm waiting to board.

hey Kara, im getting ready to board now, i can't wait to see you love you.

hey babe, have a safe flight me too, cya.

I put my phone down and sigh, a bit tired. I didn't get much sleep last night as I was too nervous for this unwanted flight, but I was excited to see Kara again. We'd never been away this long before.

I start to doze off, which I really didn't want because then I wouldn't be able to sleep on the flight. Oh well. I'm suddenly woken up by Kevin and my flight being called, shit.

"Flight 621! Flight 621 is boarding now!" How long was I out? I ask Kevin. "Not long, only about 20 minutes. "Oh okay." I start picking up my bags and bringing Kevin in for a hug, I see him looking around but I don't pay it any mind. "I'm gonna miss you little sis." Yeah, I can't say the same for you big brother. I tease him, "Just kidding."

Both of us a laughing mess, I pull away and start making my way towards the jet bridge, waving as I turn around. Before I could get all the way inside, I hear my name being called from a familiar voice. I quickly spun my head around, trying to figure out if I was imagining it. Then there she was.

Liz, out of breath, running towards me in my fucking airport. What the hell? I was shocked but most of all happy. Then I put two and two together. Those sneaky people. Before I could think, Liz was wrapping her arms around my neck. "I couldn't miss telling you goodbye!" I was grinning so big I looked like a damn meme.

"Liz, what- how-" Your brother and Scar told me you were here, and I wanted to suprise you." She explains. As I suspected. I then pulled her into another hug. I felt safe in her embrace. It's insane how in only a few days we've gotten this close.

I hear my flight being called yet another time, and that I need to board now. I make my way over to my brother, "Thank you." I whisper to him. He nods, "anytime." I walked back over to Liz, and she places a quick kiss on my cheek, catching me off guard. Making me blush like an idiot. "Goodbye y/n." She softly tells me. "Goodbye Liz." I wave to her and my brother as I make my way to the plane, staring back at her.

After finding my seat in the plane, I put my headphones on and turned on my music. Thinking about everything that had happened just now. I couldn't help but wonder how me and Elizabeth's friendship will turn out.

I guess only time will tell.
