Christmas, Yay.

It's been a whole day since I found out the news about my mother. Today just makes it even harder because Christmas was her favorite holiday. She's been on my mind all day today, and honestly, I'm still in denial.

I've pretty much been lounging all day, binging tv and eating snacks until Hailee offered to go out and get some actual food.

Kevin told me that the funeral was going to be on Thursday, in Connecticut where our mother lived. I'd already bought my tickets, so that was no worry.

Even with everything going on, my mind still thought about Liz. I figured she wanted her space, which is why she didn't answer. I even thought about going to the twins, but I don't wanna seem invasive. Except, I would probably end up doing it anyway.

I decided to go ahead and take a shower, I definitely needed it. Stepping in, I made sure to turn the water to the perfect temperature. Not too hot, not too cold. I let the water run on my face, feeling tears creeping out of my eyes, letting out a sob I didn't realize I was holding. I hated this feeling. Hailee was trying her best to be there for me, but it wasn't who I wanted, and I felt so guilty for that.

After my shower breakdown, I threw on some more comfy clothes and put on an episode of The Vampire Diaries, my all time comfort show.

"I'm back!" I hear Hailee say while coming through the door with hands full of bags.

"Gosh Hailee, how much did you get?" I ask while getting up off the chair to help her.

"A little too much."

~

"I didn't know what you liked, so I got everything from whoever was open."

Turns out Hailee went to multiple different stores for flowers, pastries, and food. It was very sweet.

"Thank you Hailee, I really appreciate it." I say while pulling her into a hug.

I was enjoying the incredible food Hailee bought until I heard my phone ring. Picking it up and seeing who's name it was made my heart skip a beat.

"I'm so sorry Hailee, I have to take this."

"Okay."

Running off into my room, I took a deep breath before I answered it. "Hello?"

"Y/n?"

I couldn't get a word out after hearing her beautiful voice.

"Y/n, are you there?"

"Oh- Uh Hi Liz."

Trying not to break a sob, I try to sound as normal as possible.

"Y/n, I wanted to wish you a Merry Christmas, and there's also something I want to tell you."

Merry Christmas my ass.

"Oh.. Y-yeah, you too."

"Y/n, are you alright?"

"Wha-no, no im fine."

Hearing her sigh over the phone, "Y/n, I've known you for a long time. I'm an actress, I know when something isn't right."

"I can-I can't say it over the phone Liz.."

"Oh, well do you want to meet at my house? I'm with Robbie, but he's about to go out.

Right, Robbie. Her boyfriend.

"Okay. Just text me the address.

"Okay, perfect."

After she texted me it, I took a deep breath before going back to the kitchen. "Hey Hailee, I'm sorry but I have to go for a little while."

"That's fine babe! Where are you going?"

"To meet Liz."

"Oh.. Yeah, thats fine too then."

I see Hailee start to frown, so I make my way to her, placing a quick kiss on her temple. "I'll be back soon, I promise."

"Okay y/n."

I went back to my room to get dressed, because these lounge outfits were definitely not appropriate. Throwing on a large sweater and pants, I went back to the living room to grab my keys.

"Bye Hailee!" I say before walking out the door.

I couldn't deny that I was nervous. My heart was beating out of my chest. I wanted to tell her about my mom, but I was afraid to breakdown again, to let down my wall I'd put up. After Kara, I had major trouble opening up, Liz was the only person I truly started to, but with my mom dying it only brought this wall back up.

Liz's home was not exactly close. She lived on the Upper East Side, so it was atleast a 30 minute drive.

I parked outside of her apartment, staring at it before building up the confidence to walk up to the door. After standing like a statue for a few seconds, I rung the doorbell. "One second!" I hear from inside.

She finally opened the door and I was greeted by one of the most beautiful women I had seen. Her beauty was always mesmerizing, no matter how much I see her.

"Y/n!" She says with a huge grin while pulling me into a hug.

"Hey Liz."

"Come on in!"

She brought me inside and led me to a big kitchen. I have to admit, this house was gorgeous. It had a older look as well as a homey vibe.

"Would you like anything to drink?"

"Oh, no thank you."

Like I expected, tears started flowing down my face, not even realizing it at first. Liz turnt around and shock filled her face.

"Oh y/n..." She says while running over to me.

"Sweetheart, what happened?"

"I- where were you yesterday?!"

I could see she was confused. "What do you mean?"

"I-I needed you and you didn't- you didn't answer."

Cupping my face, "Hey, y/n, I need you to take some deep breaths with me alright? In. Out.

I do as she says, my breathing slowing down.

"Good. Now I want you to tell me what's wrong."

"My- my m-my mom died Liz.."

I could now see Liz's eyes filling with tears. "Oh darling, I'm so sorry." She says while pulling me into a hug. Feeling safe in her embrace.

Pulling me out of the hug and wiping my tears, "I'm right here whenever you want to talk."

"I- Liz, Ke-" I was cut off by the sound of a door opening. I could swear I saw fear flash in Liz's eyes.

"I'll be right back." She tells me while hurrying to the door.

I hear faint arguing coming from that direction, trying my hardest to ignore it, not wanting to pry. I then hear more footsteps, which I assumed was Liz."

"Liz?"

It wasn't her, it was a man. I quickly realized who it was once I got a better look.

Robbie.

Unknowingly, I clenched my fists. Quickly wiping off whatever tears I had left off my face.

"Y/n? What are you doing here?" He says, trying to act clueless.

"I- uh-" I couldn't get a word out, my emotions were mixed with sadness and anger all at once.

"Well, I apologize for interrupting, I needed to come back for the ring size."

Taken back by his words, a confused mess, "W-what?"

I take a glance at Liz, who is completely frozen with her arms crossed and head faced down.

"We're engaged." He says while going to give Liz a kiss.

what the fuck.
