"Where?" I ask her, curious as to what she has in mind.
"That's for me to know, and for you to find out" She says with a small chuckle.
"Now go get dressed, we have a day ahead of us!"
Eager to find out where she's going, I go upstairs and change into a cream sweater and jeans, as it was freezing in New York.
"Ready!" I say while quickly running down the stairs.
Once I've gothen everything I need, we both head out to her car. She puts on some music, we both have the same taste so I never complained about her songs.
"Y/n?"
"Yeah?"
"About last night..-"
A bit taken back by her answer, "It's fine Liz, we were both drunk."
"Yeah.. right." She responds with a slight smile.
The rest of the car ride pretty much consumed of us singing the whole time, until we arrived at some sort of park.
"Come on!" Liz eagerly tells me while hopping out of the car.
The area was absolutely gorgeous, there were string lights along with Christmas decorations. I had never been here before, so I was very amused.
She took my hand and led me towards a huge sign that said "Ice skating"
Ohhh noo.
"Liz, are we going..ice skating?" All she did was giggle and my question was answered as we arrived at a huge circle of ice.
We walked down a huge flight of stairs and went to a building with a window, which I assumed was where we would buy the skates.
"What size are you y/n?"
"My- oh, seven."
Liz continues to buy our skates and my heart feels like it's gonna beat out of my chest.
Like she could read my thoughts, she turned around and placed her hand on my shoulder. "Relax y/n! It's gonna be fine."
After the man came back with our ice skates, we both sat on the steps and put them on, at which I was clearly struggling.
"Here, let me help." Liz offers, and all I do is nod.
What kind of idiot can't put on skates? Oh right, me.
Liz squats in front of me to my height and starts buckling my skates, looking up at me every few seconds, making my heart skip a few beats.
"All done." She says with a huge grin.
"Thank you." I reply, with an even bigger one.
She takes my hand to help me up, and we both step out on the ice, with me wobbling like a penguin.
Liz makes her way in front of me, still holding my hand and starts to guide me on the ice, trying not to bust out laughing.
"Okay y/n, I'm gonna let you go, alright?"
She counts down from 3 before letting me glide on my own, which was pretty fun at first.
"I'm doing it!" I happily yell out.
Which I thought, before losing my balance and falling straight on Liz's body, both hands on her shoulder. Almost knocking us both down.
"Y/N!!" Liz squeals while trying to hold us both up.
I attempt to pull myself back up on my own but ultimately failed.
"Okay darling, we're gonna have to work on that balance."
Her comment making me blush like crazy, "Yeah."
We stayed at the ice rink for about another 2 hours, and I eventually got the hang of it, kinda. Liz told me that she had another place she wanted to take me, so we both took back our skates and she led me down a sidewalk.
"Let me guess, your not telling me where we're going again this time either?"
"Nope."
After about a five minute walk, we approached an absolutely gorgeous secluded garden with a beautiful view of the city, I was in awe.
She did a sit down motion at the bench that was located straight in the middle of it, and we both just sat down in silence, no words were needed.
"I like to come here for an escape, whenever I need to get away from life." She begins to explain.
"Y/n?"
"Yeah, Liz?"
"Can I ask you a question?"
"Of course."
"How did you deal with it? You know.. how did you know when it was really over?"
"You mean me and Kara?"
"mhm." She nods with her head faced down.
"I guess.. I feel like me and Kara fell out of love a long time ago, but I was in denial. I told myself for so long she was the one, only putting myself and her in more pain."
Liz didn't say a word, all she did was nod, trying her best to avoid facing me. I could hear her silent whimpers, trying not to cry.
"Oh Liz.." I say while rubbing her back, "Come here." I pull her into a hug, letting her get every cry out. Not pushing her for answers until she was ready.
"I--Im sorry, I don't know what came over me."
"Don't ever apologize for feeling. You helped me multiple times, so it's only fair I do the same." I reply, getting a small chuckle out of her.
We both just sit there while I comfort her for a few more minutes, until she sits up. "Thank you, y/n."
"Anything for you Liz." I tell her while playfully bumping her with my elbow.
We both stare into eachothers eyes for a few seconds until I see Liz starting to look around us like she felt watched, which was odd.
I suddenly feel her tense up, I decide to try to hold her hand and ask her whats wrong, but she immediately pulls it back.
"Liz?"
"Can we go, please?"
"I-uh"
"Y/n, let's go."
Without questioning her, I get up and follow her back to the car, watching her pull her sunglasses out of her pockets and slipping them on her face.
Then I realized, fucking paparazzi. I don't know why, but I felt hurt at how cold she got in such a short amount of time.
We finally made it back to the car after what felt like an eternity and Liz didn't say anything at all. No music, no singing, nothing.
I chose to stay quiet because I could tell she didn't feel like talking. She was faced straight on the road like I wasn't even in the car anymore. I felt shut out.
After a very awkward car ride, she pulled into my driveway. Still not saying a word.
"Liz, are you okay?" I decide to break the silence.
"I'm fine." She replies sternly.
"Are you su-"
"I said I'm fine y/n!"
Feeling myself flinch at how she yelled, I wanted to get out of that car as soon as I could, "Goodnight Liz."
"Goodnight y/n." She says, still facing the wheel.
I didn't know exactly how to feel after what just happened, the last thing I wanted was for our friendship to end. After entering my house, I dropped on my couch, and put on the third twilight movie, having no motivation to do anything.
Did I do something wrong?
