Regret-Cole x reader

I woke up to the rush of cold air. I sat up only to see an open window. The silence was filled with the sound of the restless, whistling breeze. It was as if it was trying to tell me something, if only I'd have known.

"I could have sworn I closed that," I whispered

Getting up I walked over to the window and shut it. Thinking i may have accidentally left it open. My throat felt dry and soar. I decided to go to the kitchen to get a drink.

I was startled when I saw Cole there, staring at me. It was like he knew I was going to come so he waited. I scrunched up my face in confusion.

"What are you doing?" I laugh

"Waiting for you," he replied

"Why?"

He didn't answer, no he came closer to me and pulled me into a tight embrace. I smiled. I didn't realise how much I missed waking up to his warmth in the morning. Since he's been on a lot of missions lately, I've been seeing less of him and the team. That thought made me question why he was here, but in the moment i didn't care, but i wish I did.

He grabbed my face, kissing me softly on my forehead. Making me blush slightly. He then proceeded to kiss me passionately on my lips, as I kissed back. Gosh I love this feeling.

We broke away for air, our foreheads touching as we smiled at each other. Breathing heavily. I began to laugh. The moonlight seeped in lighting up our faces.

"So how's being a ninja and all?" I asked breaking the silence

"It was good,"

I thought nothing of his choice of words, in fact I didn't even notice. I was too caught up in the moment. Me and my love In a tight embrace.

He looked at me with love and lust in his eyes. Moving his face closer once again.

"I wish I could hold you longer," he said

I was taken aback a bit by his words, as he kissed me one last time with more passion and more longing. His hand findings it's way to mine as we intertwined fingers.

"Why can't you?"

"I have to go," he put simply

Then he pushed my head into his shoulder, holding me tight as he rubbed circles into my back in a soothing manner.

"I love you, always remember that. I'll always be with you wether physically or not." He said

"Of course, I love you too," I giggled

I wish now that I'd had said more, told him how much he actually meant to me. Every thought I had and feeling I felt when I was around him. But I didn't know..

So he walked away.

The phone rung, I picked it up.

"Hello?"

"For what?"
-
"Yeah, what about him?"
-

My heart stopped

"What, is this a joke?"

A sinking feeling

"No that can't be, he was just here!"

"N-no no you're lying,"
-
"Nya please tell me your joking. He was just here!"
