I made my way through the empty hallway, into the crowded dining room. Taking my seat next to Jay. The table had already been set, with a plate and cutlery in front of each seat. I was listening to music through my ear buds, nodding my head to the music as I shifted in my seat. Hungrily awaiting my food. I didn't bother to remove my buds from my ears as I liked listening to music, plus it drowns out Jays annoying voice so win win.
A few minutes had passed by when Zane came strolling into the room. Lasagna in hand. Today was his turn to cook and everyone loved when it was Zane's turn. Especially me, being his boyfriend an all. In fact I believe everyday should be Zane's day as nothing tastes better than his cooking..well expect cake.
I was sat there scrolling on my phone and when I glanced up food was already there on the table. Everyone rushing to take their portion.
"Finally!" I exclaimed, exited to eat. My mouth watering from the sight of the delicious food. Before I could reach over get my food a light tap was placed on my shoulder.
Turning my head I saw Zane to the right of me, he was looking at me whilst smiling motioning for me to remove my ear buds. I happily took them out and smiled at him, waiting for him to speak.
"Away please Cole," he spoke up as he reached forward taking another plate and piling food on it.
"Huh?" I replied. Tilting my head slightly towards him. He looked back at me with the same smile. "No phones at the table," he reminded me, placing the plate down in front of me. I looked at it longingly.
"O rite," I mumbled, shoving my buds and phone into the pocket of my black hoodie.
I was practically drooling by the time I picked up my fork and dug it into my lasagna. The delicate fumes filling the air, I took in a deep breath in before I quickly shoved the fork into my mouth. The lasagna pretty much melted upon hitting my tongue and I let out a quiet 'Mmm' of delight. The food was absolutely delicious, as always. I looked to my boyfriend who was already starting at me and smiled wildly. Taking another fork of food and shoving it into my already stuffed face.
"God this is amazing Zane!" I was the first to compliment. My remark was soon followed by a bunch of 'yea' and agreements.
