I sat in my seat at the back of the class, scribbling away at the pages of my school book. Humming to myself happily. Class was always so boring but I managed to keep myself entertained for long enough. I was bored mainly because no one sat next to me. There was a girl once but I don't know what happened to her. She just disappeared and never showed up again, she probably moved schools. Wish I could. Suddenly I over heard the people next to me chattering about something that interested me, so I listened in.
"A new boy?" One of the boys asks curious
"Yeah apparently he comes from a junkyard," the girl states, then they all burst out laughing. I frowned when I heard them being so mean to someone they didn't even know.
"Ew he's probably smelly!" The other girl snorted in disgust.
Soon enough the whole class was going on about this supposed new kid. Some good things, some bad things. All I knew was that the bad things made me mad. The head teacher then walks in and tells us all to go back to out seats and be quiet. I just continue to draw.
"As you all may have heard by now, we do have a new student," she started looking around the room to make sure everyone was listening. I lifted my head to look at her. As I did she peeps her head through the door and the next second a boy with fluffy brown hair walks in. He was wearing a blue jumper that had some cool orange design on it. I liked it. "So everyone this is Jay," she motioned to the boy who gave a timid, "hi," to the whole class.
"I want you to all be nice to Jay and welcome him here, understood?"
"Yes miss!" The class echoed.
"Why don't you go sit there," teacher pointed to the seat next to me and the boy stumbled down the aisle looking nervous.
Quickly I gathered up all my stuff that was spread out over the whole of my desk, making room for Jay.
He came and sat next to me and I thought about wether I should say hi or not. But he seemed shy so I decided to. "Hi," I say smiling at him. He looks up to me, a faint smile forming on his face, "hi.." his voice was soft and quiet but I heard just fine. "I'm Cole!" I held out my hand for him to shake and he took it in an instant, "Jay, nice to meet you Cole!"
