A tick repeated through the clock every little second that it took, echoing beneath the sound across Jaquella's bedroom. The ticking was a bit overwhelming, something that would definitely interrupt an idea in someone's mind.

However, it was around seven P.M. and pretty cold outside. Jaquella didn't have time to go and enjoy nature outside. But she didn't want to freeze to death, a dramatic moment that she thought.

Instead, she was relaxing under her soft, warm blanket, her entire body wrapped around the fabric and cuddling with her pillows.

Even though she had heat in her room through the AC, she loved it. She loved enjoying the moment alone and snuggling on her bed comfortably with no trouble or problems at all.

It was for a second that happened when Jaquella heard a faint yell coming from downstairs. She sat up with a frown on her face and quickly scattered out of her blankets, another yell coming back.

She exited her bedroom, walking through the stairs with her arms wrapped around herself to keep that warmth she felt from her soft blankets.

The noise itself became worse as it sounded like someone was having an argument over it. It sounded bad.

Then, Jaquella heard someone say her name out of nowhere, slowly wandering to the living room. Someone who she thought spoke really familiar.

Her heart immediately sank. She slowly lost her grip on her arms that were wrapped around herself, looking at Trevor arguing with Nick.

Tyler and Fiona only stood at the back, in visible distress and disappointment, having no clue what to do with the situation between their daughter's boyfriend and their oldest son.

None of them spotted Jaquella, who had tears brimming in her eyes. Her chin quivered and she sniffled, causing the whole scene to pause.

Instantly, Trevor glanced at her, noticing how upset she looked. He knew she wasn't happy to see him here. Not when he was nearly fighting with her brother.

Nick sighed, scratching the back of his head and looking at his sister with a huge apologetic expression.

Fiona only knew how much hatred Jaquella had towards Trevor when Fiona almost went through the same with Tyler back in their early days.

Meanwhile, Tyler held a disbelief look on his face, that he was worried for the baby in his daughter's stomach.

"What's going on?" She said, softly. No one answered. It was a deafening silence in the living room. Way too quiet. "Trevor, what are you even doing here?" Asking, she slowly held her stomach, as if she wanted to hide the bump.

Taking a deep breath, he once opened his lips to reply, yet no words escaped. He couldn't fix a word out of his lips. After all, he finally got the opportunity to glance at his girlfriend when the last time he saw her was at Tim Hortons.

She looked so beautiful sitting with herself on the table and just thinking. Trevor wished he could replay that memory over and over again.

Nick sighed, "Ella, just stay out of it, okay? We're having a talk." He said.

She rolled her eyes, no way that was a talk.

"A talk? That's a talk? I can hear you guys from upstairs." She responded, glancing at every one of her family and they all looked away. "Can somebody explain what's happening? Mom? Dad?"

Fiona exhaled, "Honey, it's private. It's something we needed to talk to Trevor about." She convinced softly, placing a small smile on her face, knowing the consequences of pregnancy hormones Jaquella was going through right now.

Jaquella deepened the frown and glanced at Trevor for a split second.

His eyes glinted with deep sadness and sorrow, he looked like he wanted to take everything back and speak out his words of how much there wasn't a definition to explain his actions.

"What is it, Mom?" Jaquella said like she had no patience, her blood running slow.

"Just listen to your mom, Ella. Please." Tyler spoke, trying to clear the heavy air around the room.

"No, I want to know what the fuck's going on here!" Jaquella's voice cracked, her eyes slowly getting blurry.

"Language!" Fiona shot a look of stern to her daughter. "Right now, you're in a vulnerable state and that attitude isn't going to help anyone. You need to go back to your room, Ella."

Soon, a tear slipped through her cheek. Jaquella sniffed, quickly wiping the tear off with the back of her hand.

Tyler exhaled, gently placing his hand on Fiona's back, comforting her. "Ella, Trevor has been coming to our door for the past week."

Jaquella perked up her head to her dad with a slightly shocked look on her face.

Why hasn't she noticed at all? Why hasn't no one told her?

Her eyes averted to Trevor, who lowered his head down, away from the attention. He didn't mean to, he only wanted to come over so he could fully explain everything.

"We didn't tell you because we knew you would worry," Nick said, keeping his voice steady, at a certain point.

Then, Jaquella frowned, "Worry about what?" She asked, dumbfounded.

Fiona cleared her throat, "That you would lose the..." she paused, swallowing hard and looking away.

It didn't take long until Jaquella understood what they were saying. Her grip on her bump tightened as her hands shook, her heart racing rapidly at a faster rate.

Meanwhile, the quietness caught Trevor's attention as he glanced at Jaquella. He noticed the uncomfortableness she was holding, slightly frowning and concerned.

No one was looking at him. Everyone seemed to stay quiet and look elsewhere but at each other. It was messy. This situation was messier than it should've been.

"Lose what?" Trevor finally asked, breaking the silence.

Nobody answered. No one could.

"Lose what, you guys?" His voice echoed, every word fading away as he blinked rapidly.

Jaquella exhaled deeply, "Our baby, Trevor."
