"Hey, can you hear me?" Jaquella said as soon as she opened the call and Tabitha only answered with a loud screech through the phone.
Jaquella winced at the sudden noise, pulling the speaker away from her ear, giving them a few seconds to relieve herself as if Tabitha had damaged the hearing organ already.
"Okay, try not to get loud, please. It's three AM for God's sake." Tabitha remembered and apologized to her best friend and her sore ear.
The day after the party, Tabitha woke up in the morning and had a huge headache that she once thought her head could explode at one point.
Thankfully, Jaquella had some medication to care of it.
Knowing that her best friend had a long day after that exhausting night of fun and drinking, Tabitha checked on Jaquella and found her sleeping on her bed like a baby.
Tabitha managed to leave her apartment without making any noise and ordered an Uber to drive back to her parents' house.
Though her dad wasn't too happy to find out that his daughter had been drinking, he was concerned for a little while but he knew that he could trust her.
"I'm sorry, I'm just so excited. How was it though? Did you like tasting his tongue?" Tabitha teased, her forehead slightly raised, hoping to see what Jaquella would answer.
She smiled, a bright red colour rose to her cheeks as she brought back all of those memories of that party and the kiss. She fought herself to grin because of it, it was such a difficult time to think if she liked it or not.
Though Jaquella and Trevor knew that it was more than a messy kiss in the closet.
During those times of twenty-five minutes, the two could never tell if they liked that special feeling of being in a tight, small room, especially in a moment like that.
Only the two of them could figure it all through themselves. That steamy, sexual intensity was getting to them and they didn't know what to expect afterwards.
"I'm always telling myself that I don't want to admit the feeling I'm having but I definitely felt something after that kiss. And we just met! It's crazy-and I'm scared that I'm falling for him. But that kiss, I mean, it was more than a kiss honestly. I don't know how to explain it. I'm scared I'll ruin all of it."
Jaquella only said what came to her head and she tried not to go all at once, stuttering through words.
However, Tabitha felt bad that nobody was there to comfort her down when Jaquella needed it the most. She just wasn't in the best state of mind after being drunk and out of control.
It was a bad decision to make even after having a good time at the party and having to waste it all was a real shame and disappointment.
Meanwhile, Jaquella was confused about m the different aspects of her emotions that she was going through almost at once.
She needed this call more than ever, but knowing that it was three AM and way past their bedtime, it was the wrong time to discuss her feelings.
Yet more headaches came back to bite Tabitha at this very moment and she knew she needed to sleep as soon as possible.
But she wouldn't give up on her best friend and listen to her problems.
"Ella, are you falling in love with him?" Tabitha asked the most important question and Jaquella quickly parted her lips to respond, but nothing had come out.
She exhaled deeply and glanced at the wall, lost in her thoughts. "I don't know." She replied, hesitatingly.
Tabitha instantly knew which type of Jaquella she was talking to today. She sighed, scratching her forehead.
"Ella, I know that you and Trevor only met in person just recently, it's fine to express what you're feeling right now. Though you might've kissed a guy you barely knew and that's fine too. You just gotta figure out what you're going to do with him. Talk it out-even when the kiss might not matter to him. One way or another, you have to figure it out, Jaquella." She explained.
Jaquella nodded. "Yeah, you're right. I have to talk it out. I might be confused by my emotions but I'm not scared of them." She let out a little chuckle and Tabitha grinned, clapping her hands, proudly.
"There we go! That's the Jaquella I fucking love." She replied, laughing through her words.
"I'm always there, T." Jaquella playfully rolled her eyes, obviously knowing that she was joking around. Tabitha scoffed and threw in a cackle at her statement.
"Oh, please. This is the dramatic typical Jaquella I know. Right now, you're being vulnerable. You gotta leave that and spice things up, babe. You know what-you need to get laid." Instantly, her eyes widened in excitement once she realized what she said.
"Nuh-uh, are you crazy? I am not going to have sex with a stranger." Jaquella shook her head, putting her actions as a final no, but Tabitha's smirk said otherwise.
"Who said it was a stranger." She raised her brow and Jaquella immediately knew who her best friend was indicating. Her face had dropped the frown once she realized, slightly pulling her phone away from her ear.
"Oh hell no. No thanks." And that, Jaquella hung up before her best friend could reply.
She closed her phone and placed it on her nightstand, quickly fastening it to turn off the lamb light.
All that in a few seconds as Jaquella was getting ready to fall asleep, knowing that her best friend's statement would take part of her dream.
How could she not?
Tabitha had helped her and teased her at almost the same time in different places. It was crazy of her to say that at this time.
Jaquella yet just couldn't stop thinking about it.
