JAQUELLA

It had been over twenty-four hours since Trevor added me into a private chat on our own, while the other boys were babbling over who was a better hockey player in their prime era, specifically.

Even though Trevor said he'd rather talk to me than argue with his friends, I felt like he was being sarcastic. It was crystal clear that he didn't like me that much so it was either way he was being sardonic or he meant his words when he texted he didn't like me.

I felt terrible for their girlfriends, and as a matter of fact, my mother used to be one of them. But knowing my parents and their history, it was way before my dad was introduced into the league.

The winter popular sport which my entire family adored; my brothers playing just like our father and depending their lives on it.

Still, I had wondered how my mom managed to get through thirsty women all these years, chasing over my dad when he dropped his name off the second he stepped into the ice rink, upon his first appearance.

Nevertheless, he never changed since after his retirement and I was surprised when I even found out that girls were still thirsting over him. He's over in his sixties and that never stopped them from DM'ing me and asking for my dad's number.

"-and then she starts asking me the most random questions as if I knew anything about the lecture. It was so weird, but she-hello? Ella, are you listening?" I snapped my eyes quickly as a hand waved right in front of my face.

"Sorry, I zoned out." I cheekily smiled and she playfully rolled her eyes, mumbling 'as always' under her breath. I chuckled when I heard her perfectly. "What were you talking about?" I asked.

She resumed. telling me about this story that happened when she bumped into a girl from college. I never ended up listening to the rest of Tabitha's story since I zoned out once again.

I just couldn't help but think how she and I have been through so much together, just from a young age to now, us reaching a certain point of adulthood life.

Tabitha was always my twin sister who I loved so much-we shared almost everything and every single moment we had to possibly share.

However, when my mom and Tabitha's mom were pregnant almost around the same time, we found out that Jamie and my dad made a deal to name us after their first initials. So as a result, I got Jamie's and Tabitha has my dad's.

As soon as Tabitha finally finished her story, my arm prickled out quickly as a smile made its way to my lips, just reminding myself about this party we were supposed to attend in a couple of hours.

"We should actually go back and get ready for the party since it's happening in about an hour," I said, informing once I glanced at my phone, the time shown.

Tabitha nodded her head. "Yeah, we should go."

We gathered all of our belongings and soon exited the restaurant. We didn't want to waste any more time so we actually got to my place as quickly as possible.

・・・

After a few minutes of spending time putting our makeup and hair done, Tabitha started helping me out, carefully choosing the right outfit for the party as if I had a lot of dresses in my wardrobe.

I didn't have that much since I don't have the time to go clubbing often. However, this would be the first time facing the guys and Trevor after a couple of weeks of talking in the group chat.

Then, Tabitha finally found an outfit for me, a cut-out one-shoulder ruched bodycon black dress, a dress from Princess Polly I forgot that I bought a couple of days ago. Thank goodness I had the dress just before Tabitha and I were going to party after.
