"Hey, girl. I got your message, what happened?" Tabitha wrapped her arms around me, giving me a quick hug as she saw the look on my face.
I was stressed and lost for words, my lips pursed in disbelief. I gave her a pat on the back and showed her a little smile I encouraged myself to do.
"Is it about your family?" She asked, looking for clues and I shook my head.
Chuckling, "Worse." I responded.
Tabitha widened her eyes and mumbled oh shit under her breath. She nodded her head to let me continue with the story-telling.
"It's about Trevor," I answered and she instantly softened her expression, giving me a look as if I had done something horrible.
"What's happened then?" She said.
"He kissed me."
She let out an audible gasp, way too quick to interrupt the last bit of the sentence. She just stood still, not even bothering to close her mouth as it formed an 'o'.
"I know. It's wrong to think about it, but-" I started.
"Hold on, he kissed you?" Tabitha exclaimed, looking like she had to make sure what she heard from the words coming out of my mouth. "Oh my God, Ella. How did this happen?" She added.
I bit the inside of my bottom lip, "After we had that dinner at my parent's house, we left and I might've invited him to stay, which he did. And we had a good time there until he told me not to run, he kissed me."
Tabitha blinked rapidly, processing over and over a million times. "And?" She raised her brow.
"It lasted for a good fifteen minutes." I hid my face in my hands out of embarrassment as Tabitha let out a shocked chuckle. I glanced back at her with a bright red colour on my cheeks, my lips pursed into a thin line.
"Damn, I didn't know you had it in yourself." She had a huge smirk plastered on her face, screaming of smug yet disbelief that she was shocked to even think about it.
"It gets worse too." I later added.
Tabitha instantly frowned, "Oh no."
"He finally told me that he likes me." Ignoring the butterflies creeping around my stomach, I had the urge to grin and show my proudest expression. But I kept my calmness. "We both did." I corrected.
Tabitha let out a scream, her lips curving into a huge grin. She hopped in excitement and squealed.
"Yes, finally! I'm so happy." She clapped her hands and pulled me towards her, engulfing me in a tight hug.
For sure did I expect this reaction, I laughed and joined in her excitement, the purest expression of happiness I've ever felt for a long time, especially in a moment like this.
