"I'll see you later?" Fiona said, with a bit of encouragement and Jaquella quickly nodded, letting out a hum as a confirmation. "Okay, stay safe, honey."
Fiona gave her one last gentle kiss on her forehead before she got to her dad and brothers beside her. But Jaquella wouldn't let that aside until she had to hug Fiona.
"I will. Love you, mom," Jaquella smiled, wrapping her arms around her mom. Soon after, that was interrupted when Tyler placed his palm on the back of Jaquella's head.
She looked up to him and her smile widened when he engulfed her in a tight yet inviting hug ever.
Nevertheless, the father instincts appeared as the endangered thoughts corrupted his mind. He slightly pulled his arms away from his daughter and cupped her face, so her attention would be on him and only his face.
"Call me, okay?" Tyler suggested that he wasn't asking, he insisted on doing so and Jaquella chuckled, nodding her head. "Okay, stay safe, baby. I love you." Tyler removed his hands, gently placing a kiss on her cheek.
"Love you too, dad." Jaquella overheard Trevor's car engine running off, making her fasten up more than ever. Once she got off the porch, she turned her back and waved at her family. "Bye, guys!"
She entered Trevor's car and fastened her seatbelt, glancing at her mother who already had her eyes glistened with tears. Tyler stood beside her, trying to calm her down.
At last, Jaquella and Trevor drifted off from the location and went back to her place. The whole time of the drive was nothing but silence.
After the small incident in the family washroom, Jaquella and Trevor were surprisingly calm as they headed back to the dining room separately, like as if nothing had happened earlier.
Since Jaquella felt vulnerable and nerve-wracking in that moment, it all felt like things were going to be different from now on yet somehow better the fact that the two talked it out finally.
Even though it might've been absurd for them to stay strongly connected when they had admitted their feelings to each other. Any of what they felt right in their world, was different.
They never thought this moment would ever happen. Instead, only their feelings brought them closer than ever in just a night to be recalled-and it still wasn't over.
Trevor quietly parked his car right in front of the building's entrance, getting to a stop and Jaquella snapped out of her gaze, realizing that she was home.
A small glance at Trevor, she looked around for a split second and gave him a mumbled thanks under her breath as she closed the door.
Only rethinking again Jaquella was hoping to invite him or not, considering he had a game tomorrow and not to mention, it was late outside.
Before she knew it, Trevor was already out of his car, leaning on the passenger side's door, steadily watching the girl fade away from him.
Jaquella looked over her shoulder, catching the guy staring at her and she chuckled. Yet again, she turned her whole view to him.
"Do you wanna stay?" She insisted with a gentle smile on her lips, a small frown creeping on her forehead.
There was no way Trevor would've said yes to that suggestion. He had a game tomorrow and would have to practice with plenty of hours to waste.
Of course, he responded like he wasn't ever leaving any time soon, "Yeah, sure."
He smiled, never letting go of his eyes off her body figure and the cute outfit that managed to look so good, especially on her. As he followed Jaquella behind through her place, he wasn't able to remove that smile off his lips.
Without even knowing it, he'd beg to stay with her if he had the chance to. He wanted to, for some reason, just not let her go until he knew everything about her.
The whole walk through her place and into the elevator, it was nothing but silence yet again. Like in the car. The two were left thinking to themselves, what could happen at this right moment.
Soon enough those thoughts immediately disappeared when Trevor got a quick sniff of the girl's scent across the whole room of her place.
Jaquella closed the door behind her and glanced at Trevor who was lost, looking around and taking his time thoroughly.
Trevor couldn't seem to be surprised when he thought exactly what her place would look like the minute he met her that evening at the party.
Her room was just so spotlessly neat and clean like she had been cleaning and taking her time doing so for eternity.
Then, Trevor approached closer to the living room and Jaquella quickly spoke up, before he could say anything about her pieces of furniture.
"Make yourself comfortable." She smiled, catching Trevor's attention over to her. "Want anything?" She asked as she headed to the kitchen, grabbing two cold water bottles in mid-air.
He shook his head, sitting on the couch with his legs slightly spread, "I'm good, thanks. The dessert made me full." He chuckled. Jaquella wasn't too surprised when he said that, her mom knew how to make the best brownies.
She placed one of the bottles back in the fridge and took a sip. "I'm not surprised." She responded, making her way over to the couch in which Trevor was almost directly in front of her.
"I've just noticed that you and the boys are staying here longer than I expected. How come-you know what, that's a stupid thing to say. Just ignore it." Jaquella shook her head, stopping herself as she drank more of her water.
Trevor watched her stumble through her words once she realized that she might've asked one of the stupidest questions ever.
He chuckled, "It's alright. We get that a lot, actually. Not many people expect us to stay here. But Jack grew up in Toronto since his dad used to be with the Leafs' organization, so Jack liked the idea of living there just 'cause he felt comfortable. And the rest of us stayed with him."
Can someone be any hotter right now, Jaquella thought. She smiled at him and nodded her head, slowly closing the cap of the water bottle.
She stood and turned to look at him. "You're nicer than I thought." She mumbled, having the urge to break through with a smile playing on her lips.
Trevor raised his forehead like he was offended by her words. He playfully rolled his eyes, "I heard that. Besides, I'm always nice, right?" He asked.
Jaquella stood quiet, crossing her eyes at the corner and smiling sneakily.
"I'm gonna go change." She said and Trevor let out a loud scoff, making her laugh. The two later laughed it off, knowing that she was only joking about earlier. "Honestly, I'm just uncomfortable wearing these clothes."
Before she could even head over to her bedroom down the hallway, Trevor only thought quickly as he stood, stopping her before she fled.
"Wait." He muttered, awkwardly rubbing the back of his neck, lost for words. Jaquella looked at him confused, her brows slightly furrowed.
"What is it?" She asked, glancing at him as if to look for clues.
"Promise me you won't run." He stared at her, their eyes locked in. He had a stern yet soft look so Jaquella was well aware that he wasn't joking around.
She deepened the frown, trying to process his words. "I won't."
The second those two words escaped from her lips, Trevor took the chance to gently cup her cheeks and kiss her so smoothly that it had vanished all of her worries.
The frown was gone, and her shoulder dropped like her body had taken a deep breath of relief. Jaquella smiled against his lips and placed one of her hands on the back of his head.
