Sorry for my absolute tardiness.

Happy Belated Christmas to y'all!

Y/N POV

It was your average and typical day in an isekai.

The birds are chirping, the sun is shining, and...

"Y/N! KAZUMA! SAVE MEEEEEEEE-!"

Yup, and the toads have reawakened. Why, you may ask? The culprits are the ones currently running away from their problems instead of facing it. Darkness, who was supposed to be tending to Lord Alderp in the original timeline, is now fending off a frog pretty well despite missing every single one of her attacks. Utilizing her defense only kit, I figured out some moves for her that can still have offensive potential. One such move is a body slam.

"HYAAAAH!" Darkness swung her sword once more, narrowly missing the frog's tongue by an inch. I checked her luck before, and it was average, which means she's not missing those shots because of chance alone, but maybe also because of her sluggishness. Wait, that's not right, she's faster than all of us when she runs, so how-

This is one scientific problem I still have not figured out.

The other moves... can be done, but first, we need to get this woman a shield.

Moving on to Aqua, who keeps on running around with her hagoromo fluttering in the wind and it somehow stays magically floating behind her. Her healing skills have gotten better, and I'm not really keen on letting her try combat skills other than slamming monsters with her staff, so honestly, quite useless. Megumin is also a funny case. No possible advancements able to be made there. She spams all her points into intellect and mana capacity, which isn't a bad choice. It's going to take forever before her max mana cap will allow her to cast 2 explosions in a row, though, so it's not a bad idea to maximize the damage of the one-time nuke that she is useful for.

Kazuma is on a whole other level now. I can see why he struggled and yelled curses at his teammates because they're practically unable to be raised to be versatile enough as supports. His sword skills have gotten better after our spars: which, miraculously, he won thrice against me (because I've sealed off Mode Zero when I'm not using it, causing Mode One's physical body to be a bit lacking in skill). And adding onto his new arsenal of Thief and Archery skills, he is quite the multifaceted main character.

Me? I have been developing more gadgets, and Gli's farming in the past two weeks brought me enough things to craft a magical bow of my own. I made my previous compound bow using Mode Zero, which was the pinnacle strength of human creation. However, I'm looking forward to seeing how magical ingredients will enhance human technology.

Oh, by the way, Sena is with us here, since she was supervising the case of the toads coming out of hibernation early. Megumin and Aqua seemed to have a bit too much fun blowing up the plains to the point it heated the environment and woke the toads.

"Farsight.... and Snipe!" I let loose an arrow straight to the eye of a toad, gaining a critical hit and killing it instantly. It was thanks to Darkness holding the toad in a specific position long enough without being eaten that I managed to get this shot, so I guess even unflexible units have their times to shine.

Megumin and Aqua, however, weren't having much luck. Megumin had already been swallowed by a toad and his now standing inside its mouth since it's cold outside. Aqua had just been swallowed halfway while Kazuma gave a large sighed and we rolled our eyes together before Sena getting suddenly latched on by one of the toads' tongue and swallowed as well.

"Welp, here we go!"

Unsheathing Crispr, Kazuma and I dashed towards the now immobile toads with Darkness serving as a momentary distraction. Making quick work of the monsters, I collected their meat and hide into a bag.
