Y/N POV
We slowly walked back to the city with the horse towing Aqua's cage. To be honest, the psychological damage the crocodiles forced onto her was comparable to temporary mind break, so I'm not going to berate Aqua any longer for being a wuss in the face of beasts.
When we got to the streets inside the town, however, people started casting weird glances at us for keeping a girl in a cage. Sighing in response, I posted a large piece of paper on one side that said 'en route to treating for emotional damage'. That at least seemed to keep some people satisfied for an explanation.
However, someone was definitely not satisfied with this, as he rushed over with his dark blue suit of armour and ripped the cage open with his bare hands.
"What the-" Not even I can rip the cage open with bare hands. I have to at least enhance myself with Ul Akra to do it...
"Goddess-sama! Are you okay?"
"Goddess?" Kazuma and I both said, surprised as I recognized the fellow. Mitsurugi Kyouya. Bearer of the Cursed Sword Gram, whose power I still don't exactly know besides it being heavy and overpowered.
"Hey, Aqua. He was calling you a goddess. You know him, don't you?" Kazuma said to Aqua, who gave him a blank look in return.
"Goddess?"
"Mhm." I confirmed.
"Oh!" Aqua suddenly had a realization and her face lit up. "That's right, I'm a goddess!"
I can almost see the words 'did you really forget that you were a goddess' floating out of Kazuma's brain as Aqua walked out from the opening Mitsurugi made.
Mitsurugi then introduced himself to Aqua, but she simply gave a puzzling look to the man who cringed in response of her terrible memory before taking out his sword to help her remember.
"Ah! You're that guy! Sorry, sorry, I send many people on their way, so I'm bound to forget a few, you know?"
The individual known as the Goddess of Water, Aqua, has shown intelligence for the first time in speech. Note that down, Gil, note it down.
"So, Aqua-sama, where are you living right now?"
"In the stables."
"In the stables???" Mitsurugi looked like he just witnessed a cataclysm, before grabbing onto Kazuma after Aqua gave an entire explanation on how she got here in the first place."
"You dragged Goddess-sama to this world??? How could you do this to her and make her live in the stables-"
"Summon Code 10293- Cursed Lightning."
A voice spoke out from behind me as a wave of black electricity struck down, making Mitsurugi jump back to avoid the spell. Glitchøa descended behind me, and I gave back a nod of understanding.
"Don't start with your hands, and start with your voice if you are saying something reasonable. Also, Aqua's stable home has been upgraded with proper bedding and an air purifier, so it's essentially as good as a small inn."
Mitsurugi stepped back a little before thinking hard and finally nodded in minimal satisfaction to my response. "Anyways... you seem to have such good party members. A crusader, an archwizard, and an arch priest." He then turned to Megumin, Aqua, and Darkness. "How about you three join my party? I'll make sure to have you all fed well and a good place to rest."
While Aqua and the others shrunk away from Mitsurugi who has been labelled as 'very sus', I spoke out their minds. "Dude. First of all, they're fine with their lifestyle. Second of all, don't go acting up on that hero complex of yours. We don't need your help, not now, and probably not ever."
