Siya exclaimed, "Oh hell no! You've got to be kidding me!"
Sisanda retorted, "Stay out of this."
I questioned, "Sisanda, what do you want from me?"
Siya intervened, "Chomee, you're not gonna entertain this b*tch!"
Aya added, "Chomee, let's go."
Alex and Karen seemed speechless.
Sisanda insisted, "No one was talking to any of ya'll, so shut up!"
I reassured my friends, "Guys, it's fine, ya'll can go."
Kay protested, "We're not leaving you with her."
Aya agreed, "Kay is right. We're not going anywhere."
I urged them, "Guys, I'll be fine. Just go."
They left, and Sisanda confronted me, saying, "What do you want?"
"My man. The one you stole!" she declared.
I chuckled, replying, "Seriously? You yanked my arm and tripped me because of a man who clearly never loved you in the first place."
She retorted, "You have no idea what you are talking about! Sandiso loves me, and you probably ga—"
I cut her off, saying, "B*tch, please. Andimdlisanga uSandiso!"
Just then, Sbu and Sandiso arrived.
Sisanda accused, "You did! You witch!"
Sandiso intervened, "Woah, babe, what's going on here?" as he held me from behind.
Sisanda continued, "Sandiso, this b*tch—"
Sbu interjected, "Woah, hold up, b*tch. Amahle is not a b*tch. If anyone's a b*tch, it's you!" Sbu received a slap from Sisanda, and Sbu held his cheek.
Sbu exclaimed, "B*tch, what the fuck?!" She attempted to slap him again, but Sandiso held her hand.
Sandiso stated, "We are done here. Babe, let's go!"
He put his arm around my neck, leading us to class while Sbu followed us. Sisanda was busy shouting, and Sandiso said, "Hey... u-right?"
I lied, "Yeah, I'm fine," as we entered the classroom. My girls approached me with concern.
Aya asked, "Chomee, u-right?"
Kay questioned, "What happened?"
Siya added, "Are you okay? God, if I could have 5 minutes with her!"
Sbu told them, "Argh, shut up, sis!" He took his stuff and left.
I assured them, "Guys, I'm fine, really," while Aya gave me a 'we'll talk later' look.
Aya said, "Guys, she's fine. Let's go."
Alexis asked, "You joining us, right?"
Kay pleaded, "Please."
Sandiso proposed, "Not to spoil your Friday plans, ladies, but may I steal her for a few hours? I promise to bring her back safe and sound."
They agreed, saying, "Sure," and left, except for Aya.
Aya said, "Chomee?"
I replied, "It's okay, babe. We'll talk."
She said, "Okay, enjoy."
It was just him and me. I was mad, and I think he sensed it because he didn't say a word. He grabbed my bag, and we walked to his car. After what seemed like 10 minutes, he broke the silence.
"Baby, I'm sorry. I should have dealt with Sisanda accordingly. You don't deserve this drama," he apologized.
"Drama? Yeah, you're right, I don't! I didn't sign up for this when I agreed to be your girlfriend, Sandiso!"
He parked on the side of the road.
"Muhle, I know you didn't sign up for this, and I'm sorry about what happened today. You see, that day after the debate, I went to apologize to her for the way things got out of hand. She made me believe everything was cool, and we agreed that she would lay off you."
"But she didn't because she's hurt. Sandiso, you hurt her. We hurt her. I can't build my happiness on another girl's tears. That's just not how I was raised," I explained. He tried to speak, but I continued, "Let me finish. I was raised to pick other girls up and not to break them apart."
"Woah, babe. Hold up. You can't end things because of her. You can't do this to me. Your happiness matters too," he pleaded.
"I'm not saying let's end this. Let's ju... let's just take a break until you two sort out whatever issues you have."
"No! Hell no, Amahle! Ha.a, you can't do this!" He was visibly upset, hitting the steering wheel and startling me. "Not to us, baby, please."
"But Sandiso, that girl is in love with you."
"And you don't?"
"I didn't say that."
"But you didn't say it either."
"Look, Sandiso, I love you, but this is... " He interrupted me by pulling me in for a dramatic, passionate kiss that left me weak.
"Mahle, don't fight this. This
is what's meant to be," he insisted, kissing me again.
I finally broke the kiss, saying, "Okay, point taken. Now let's go. I can't wait to get out of this uniform."
"Huh," he gasped, "it hasn't even been a month, let alone 3, and already you wanna let me hit." I playfully punched him, saying, "What? No! Shut up and just take me home, idiot!"
"I like it when you talk dirty to me," he teased.
"You're a nasty freak, yeses! Just drive," I said.
He dropped me off and told me to be ready in 15.
