I woke up at 4:45 am to the persistent sound of my alarm. Nathi, my roommate, was still in a deep slumber, so I tried my best not to disturb her. After a quick trip to the bathroom, it was already 4:58 am. Just as I finished, my phone rang, and to avoid waking Nathi, I hurriedly answered it in the kitchen. It was Bae calling.
"Hey, wake up," he greeted.
"Relax, I'm actually up and ready," I assured him.
"Okay, my Angel. I'm on my way," he replied.
"I can't say I'm excited," I admitted.
"Stop being lazy," he teased.
"Haa, babe, this is torture, hawu!" I complained.
"You're so cute when you complain," he chuckled.
"Mxm, tsek," I retorted.
"I love you too. Go stand by the gate; I'm almost there," he instructed.
"Okay, sho," I agreed.
After putting my phone on silent in the lounge, I grabbed my water bottle and headed out. Bae was already waiting, looking hotter than ever.
"Morning, Beautiful," he greeted.
"Hey, Handsome," I replied.
"Are you ready?" he asked.
"Of course. Let's go," I said.
We started jogging, and I proudly made it to Savoy Spar without any stops in between. After reaching our destination, we sat on the grass.
"Somebody is improving," Bae remarked.
"That's because Mama ain't raised no quitter," I proudly declared.
"That's the spirit. And you forgot something," he teased.
"What?" I asked.
"I don't date quitters," he playfully declared.
"I wouldn't know, now, would I?" I replied with a smirk.
"You suck, you know that! Don't you know you're my first real girlfriend?" he confessed.
"So you mean to tell me you've been dating dolls and mannequins before me?" I teased.
"I didn't know you were silly. I'm so gonna get you," he threatened, getting on top of me and tickling me. I couldn't stop laughing, apologizing between fits of laughter.
"Yazi, uyaqela," he teased.
"I'm sorry, kaloku, nana," I managed to say.
We locked eyes, and in that moment, it felt like only he and I existed in the world. My mind went blank, and I didn't care about anything or anyone else around us. I could feel the intensity of the connection, and as he bent down to kiss me, the world disappeared. The kiss was epic, and I could sense the growing desire between us. He stopped, looked at me, and smiled.
"Yoh, uwrong," he chuckled.
"What did I do?" I innocently asked.
"You don't want to know," he replied, smiling shyly. He was undeniably hot.
"Hahahaha, you're so cute when you blush," I teased.
"I'm not blushing, OK!" he insisted.
"Get off me, you heavy rugby player," I playfully complained.
"You're a mood killer, you know that," he joked.
"But you're still dating me," I retorted.
"I'm doing your cute nerdy ass a favor," he teased.
