Kay and I strolled towards bae's car, the atmosphere around us carrying a mix of hushed tones and shadows cast by the setting sun. As we walked, the weight of a recent revelation pressed on my chest, prompting Kay to voice her concerns.

"Dude, what the hell?" Kay's voice held a mix of disbelief and concern.

I sighed, choosing my words carefully. "Last night, she let Lihle break her virginity. I'd rather we not talk about it."

Her eyes widened, "What?! Aren't they over?"

"They are. He's leaving for PE next year," I explained, feeling a heaviness in the air.

Bae opened the car doors for us, his presence introducing a momentary distraction from the weighty conversation.

"Where's the other musketeer?" he asked, a trace of curiosity in his tone.

"Inside," I replied, avoiding eye contact.

"Isn't she coming?" he inquired, sensing an unspoken tension.

"...As you can see," I mumbled, and he exchanged a puzzled glance with Kay who simply shrugged in response.

"Okay," he uttered, and with that, he drove off to school. Arriving at the school grounds, bae headed to 12B, while Kay and I went to class 12A to stow our bags. Greetings from Alexis and Siya punctuated the air.

"Hello, Mi Ladies. Where's Aya?" Alexis questioned, her tone lighthearted.

"Hey, babies," Siya added.

"We don't know," Kay replied, and their eyes turned towards me. I just shrugged; I wasn't ready to spill the details of Aya's personal life. Just then, the atmosphere shifted as we witnessed Aya getting off Lihle's car. A collective silence engulfed us.

"Babuyelene?" Siya questioned, seeking confirmation if they were back together.

"I don't know," I admitted.

"Seems like it, though," A chimed in.

"Guys, I'll meet you in class," I announced, excusing myself from the gathering.

"Cool," they responded, leaving me to navigate the corridors alone. On my way, I encountered the Baeness.

"You okay?" he asked, his arms enveloping my waist as he leaned against a desk.

"I wish," I confessed, the turmoil evident in my expression.

"You and Aya... what's up?" he inquired, concern etched in his features.

"She's stubborn," I sighed.

"Just like a cute pouting somebody I know," he teased, causing a blush to spread across my cheeks.

"Hay, man, wena. She doesn't listen. That guy is bad for her, and he's only going to hurt her! Their relationship is literally not going anywhere," I vented, seeking solace in his comforting presence.

"Babe," he murmured, attempting to ease my worries. "Relax, okay! Breathe."

"I just..." I began, but he interrupted with understanding eyes.

"I get it. You care about your friend, but Aya is a big girl. Let her make her own mistakes and learn from them, okay?" he advised, and I nodded, appreciating the sincerity in his words.

"She's lucky to have someone that cares this much, and she may not see it now, but life will make her see that, okay?" he added, a soft smile playing on his lips. "You look so cute right now."

"Hay mpaaaa, wena," I playfully protested.

"There's that smile that made me fall in love with you..." he trailed off, his tone affectionate.
