I reached his car and planted a kiss on his cheek. He had already picked up Kay on his way to me.
"Hey, ya'll," I greeted.
"Hey again, babe," he responded.
"Hey, Bubu," Kay added.
"Hay, Kay, she's my Bubu tshi," he teased.
"She was my Bubu before she became yours. You're like the side dish in this relationship," Kay bantered.
"Hey, guys, stop okay. I'm both your Bubu, and I love you both, okay! Now, please, may we go?" I intervened, trying to lighten the mood. Kay stuck her tongue out at him, and I laughed, giving him another kiss on the cheek. He smiled.
We arrived at Siya's place, and Bae parked outside. We walked into the yard and knocked on the door, which was opened by Sbu. He led us to the lounge.
"Kay, Madam, how are you guys doing?" Sbu asked.
"We're good, and you?" Kay responded.
"Standard. Siya will be down in a minute or maybe 5. She was on the phone with someone," Sbu informed us.
"Dude, let's go already. These people have been here before," Sandz urged.
"Don't you want to stay with Madam for 5 minutes, nah?" Sbu teased.
"Hell no, I spent too much time with her today. I don't want to bore her," Sandz responded.
"Uhhhem," I cleared my throat, "Madam in the room, tshi."
"Sorry, babe," Sandz apologized, kissing my cheek, "but we have to go study."
"How come you guys don't study at Sandz's crib?" Kay inquired.
"Same reason you guys don't study at your crib," Sbu explained.
"And that reason being?" I asked.
"We studied at Anele's place yesterday. We alternate venues just like you guys," Sandz clarified.
"And we gotta go. Anele is in the kitchen," Sbu added, prompting them to disappear. Siya joined us in the lounge shortly after.
"Sorry to keep you waiting. I was on the phone with my little sister. She witnessed her bestie and her boyfriend kissing," Siya explained.
"She must have been devastated," I sympathized.
"Not really. If it's anything, she's glad," Siya replied.
"You have corrupted the child!" Kay accused.
"I did nothing except teach her that men aren't worth her tears and that she's too pretty to cry over one broken crayon when the others still function properly," Siya defended.
"Yep, you corrupted her!" I teased.
"Mxm, let's just study already," Siya suggested.
"Anybody heard from Alex? She's not answering my texts," Kay questioned.
"She's probably with Andile," Siya assumed.
"Nah, she would have told someone. Anyone of us if she wasn't gonna make it. I tried calling her phone, but I got her voicemail instead. Okay, that's weird. Something's not up," I expressed my concern.
"Well, her phone goes straight to voicemail," Kay added.
"Do you think something happened to her?" Siya wondered.
"I doubt it. Try calling Andile," I suggested.
"Okay," I agreed, dialing Andile. He picked up after a while.
