JUNGKOOK POV

I managed to make it back to my apartment before I began to sob.

The cold way he had treated me would have upset me no matter what but the pregnancy hormones made it feel like the end of the world.

It wasn't good for the baby for me to get upset but my mate had just crushed me.

I tried to calm down but I ended up curled up in the fetal position on my sofa, bawling until my head hurt and I was exhausted.

I finally fell asleep with a pillow clutched protectively over my belly.

A loud knock on the door woke me.

I sat up and rubbed the sleep and dried tears out of my eyes.

It had gotten dark and I looked at the clock.

I'd been asleep for four hours.

I guessed after everything that happened, I needed the rest.

The person in the hall knocked again but it was louder and more insistent.

I got up from the couch and began to amble toward the door while rubbing my temples.

My head didn't hurt anymore but I could feel the headache there waiting for me like a Ninja.

More knocking.

"I'm coming." I called out.

I opened the door and a drunk Jimin almost fell into me.

He struck me as someone who could hold his liquor, so if he was that drunk, he must have had a lot.

"Can I come in?" He asked and wiped a tear off his cheek with the palm of his hand.

"I need to talk to you."

He stumbled forward and I caught him.

"Yeah, come in and sit down," I said and led him over to the sofa.

"This is your apartment?" he said and looked around my living room.

"It is but you know that."

"That's why you're here, right? Because I live here." I offered.

"Yeah, I guess that's true," he said and fell against the back of the sofa.

"I'm going to get you a glass of water and a vitamin C tablet." I said.

"Vishaamin C?" he slurred.

"The antioxidants will help your body deal with the huge amount of alcohol you've consumed." I said.

"The water will keep you from getting dehydrated."

I walked into the kitchen and got him a big glass of water and a vitamin C water.

When I got back to the living room, his eyes were barely open.

He was going to pass out.

"Here, drink this." I said. "Hurry up before you pass out."

"You'll feel much better when you wake up if you do."

"Can you calsh me a cab?" he asked.

"You shouldn't have to put up wif me like zish."

"Shut up and drink the water." I said.

"And drink this." I handed him the water.

"I'm not calling you a cab."

"You can stay here until you feel better."

"You're too good for me." he said and chugged the water.

"While that may be true." I said with a laugh, "I'm not sending you out into the night drunk off your ass."

"You can stay here where I can be sure you're not going to choke to death on your own vomit in your drunken stupor."

"That sounds horrible." he said.

"But why would you do that for me?"

"Because whether you care or not you're my mate and I do care You're also the father of my child." My hand instinctively covered my stomach.

"I'm going to get you a pillow and blankets."

"Then, I'll put on a movie."

By the time I got back to the living room with the pillow and a few blankets, he was already passed out.

I laid him down on his side with the pillow under his head, took off his shoes and covered him up.

When that was done, I put on a movie and stretched out on the chaise lounge that one of my friends said was too big for my living room.

I was glad I'd bought it anyway.

I stayed awake as long as I could but eventually, I drifted off.

When I woke up, jimin was stirring.

He brought his fingers to the bridge of his nose and pinched.

I heard him let out a groan and I knew the hangover had kicked in.

Fortunately, he was an Alpha, so it would be short-lived.

His body would heal fast.

"Let me get you some water and painkillers." I said.

"I can do it." he said softly. "You shouldn't be waiting on me."

"Is it okay if I make some toast too? I think some buttered toast would settle my stomach."

"Sure, there's bread in the box next to the microwave."

"The butter is in the silver dish in the fridge."

"Would you like some?" he asked with a genuine smile.

"Sure, if you don't mind."

"I think some toast would help settle my stomach too, Some mornings are rough." I said.

"You just sit tight."

"I'll make us toast." he said and wandered off toward the kitchen.

"It's this way right?"

"Yep." I said. While he was in the kitchen, I went to the bathroom.

When I was done with my business, I washed my face and tamed my wavy hair the best I could.

I went into the kitchen and sat down at the table, Jimin was buttering toast and making tea.

"I'm sorry."he said as he brought me a cup of tea and the sugar bowl.

"I shouldn't have come here when I was drunk like that."

"Thank you for letting me stay and for taking care of me."

"Anything Jimin, I mean that."

"I know it's all new but we're family now." I said.

"That's why I'm here, I don't know how to say this stuff so I'm just going to say it before I have the chance to talk myself into being stupid again."

"I don't know how to be a mate and father but I have to try."

"All of that stuff I said yesterday was just me being stupid, I want you and I want our baby."

"I know most people get to at least date before they become a family but we've got nine months to get to know each other."

"That's a lot of time, I think."

"Let me take care of you, baby."

"I want to give us a try."
