Entire thing is in Kai's POV this is Skylor x Kai one-shot. Also, Kaiya will be mentioned in this as I LOVE her as my OC and my account is called Kaiya_ninjago.

Google defines friends with benefits as A friends with benefits relationship can be tricky to define. It's somewhere between a dating relationship and a friendship. Usually, friends with benefits (a.k.a. FWB) means that people who know each other engage in intimate/sexual activity without really dating each other.

Is that what me and Skylor are? As we usually act like a couple, yet we aren't. 

Some days it feels like I was at war with myself trying to figure out what me and her are. I've tried asking the Ninja this question and each of them said the same thing. That me and Skylor are 'friends with benefits' yet none of them will explain why. 

I keep getting pushed back into the friendship zone with her.

 I've asked Jay for advice on dating and women as he's dating my sister. He said to just be 'myself' well being myself is the reason why I'm getting ignored 

Cole isn't even close to an  option to ask as he's never been interested in having a relationship with anyone and wouldn't give me any great advice

Zane and Pixel said something in scientific terms which made no freaking sense. So I immediately walked past them when they stopped talking. 

Heck, I even asked the youngest member of the team for advice Lloyd as he's dating Kaiya. But he came out with something like be your best self and ask her out in a place you KNOW she likes. What if I don't know what she likes? What if she's never truly shown any interest in me that I don't know how she would react in I properly ask her out. 

I only had one option left to ask... Kaiya. Lloyds girlfriend, I'm not particularly close to Kaiya as even though she's been with us from the beginning she only started coming round regularly after the sons of Garmadon because her and Lloyd began dating. So that's what I did I went to find Kaiya and I know exactly who to ask. 

I walked into the kitchen to see said boyfriend on the phone with it next to his ear laughing at something the caller had said. 

"Hey Lloyd! Buddy. Do you know where Kaiya would be?" I asked Kaiya's boyfriend politely while walking over to him. 

He blankly stared at me, until saying "Kaiya, Kai wants to talk with you good luck." And with that he passed me the phone that was on his ear and went over to the sofa. 

"Let me know when you are done so I can get back to my conversation!" He yelled at me while walking out of the room. 

I held the phone up to my ear and waited for the person I needed to talk to on the other line to speak. 

"Hi Kai, you alright?" 

Thank goodness she spoke first. This was going to be VERY awkward. 

"Oh um yes Kaiya I'm alright, I just have a question." I replied anxiously 

"Alright? What's the question?" 

"What do you think me and Skylor are?" I asked 

Then silence occurred, I thought this was a sign that she didn't want to talk to me so I was about to call Lloyd back into the room to hand him his phone back until...

"Aren't you and Skylor dating? Like your her boyfriend." 

"N-no I'm not her boyfriend!" I whisper yelled since I was shocked at her answer
