After reset you and Alma had made a plan to go to Paul's apartment. Emma Olive and Enoch had been told to care for the children while the two of you would be heading out... that was all Alma had told them, and when Emma and Olive saw the dresses you were wearing, they had made up their mind that Alma and you were going on a date. But you didn't even know why they would say that when she wasn't gay. Not to mention you weren't...

________

Once you'd taken the ferry to the mainland the two of you got on a bus, which Alma didn't seem to comfortable with. Though she did her best to hide it. On the bus her eyes kept flying around like the whole thing would explode any other second. Eventually you grabbed her hand giving it a reassuring squeeze. As you were about to pull it away, she didn't let go bur held on tight. You her hold your hand as it seemed to calm her down, but noticed a woman in her mid 30/40's looking at you. You shrugged it of not thinking much of it until the bus held at a stop and a family entered.

"I think you should let go now" said the woman who'd been starring. It took both of you a moment to realise that she was speaking to the two of you, but when you did you just glared at her and said.

"Why ever would i do that" looking at her coldly. You could feel Almas talons digging into your skin the slightest bit, making you look at her. She looked like she was about to jump the woman.

"Oh" the woman scoffed.

"Not in front of the children" she said nodding towards the family who seemed to have no problem with the two of you holding hands, whatsoever. You where about to get up and jump in her face when Alma the clearly cleverer choice and wrapped her arms around you waist, resting her head on your shoulder.

"Ignore her. Let's focus on getting home to the kids" she said, grinning at how enraged this made the woman.

"You could never be competent enough of a mother!" She said raising her voice. You knew that this was Almas week spot making you abruptly get out of your seat.

"At least she doesn't look like a filthy whore!" You shouted making everyone around gasp.

"And to your information. She is a great mother!" You snapped.

"Ugh!" The woman simply said before getting of the bus. Wow... you hadn't even noticed it'd stopped. You brushed of your dress and sat back down, turning to Alma who had tears in her eyes.

"Oh- Alm- did i say something wrong!?" You asked in panic. She just shook her head before pulling you into a hug. You were taken by surprise but hugged her back.

"Thank you" she mumbled just loud enough for you to hear it. You smiled and pulled her closer.

________

the rest of the trip to your old apartment, you grew increasingly more nervous. Once you got of the bus, Alma grabbed your hand and gestured for you to lead the way. You hesitated and she grabbed your chin making you look her in the eyes.

"If you are not ready for this, we can always turn around" she said sternly but softly. You shook your head no.

"No way i went through that Karen for nothing" you said laughing. The taller woman looked confused but smiled widely.

"Alright then. Lead the way" she said, and do you did.

______

You were standing in front of the building. It was just like you'd remembered it. Tall, dirty, not very clean... Alma looked at you and you nodded. She rang the bell and a raspy voice toned out.

"What!?" Said a man. The man.

"I-I'm home" you said trying not to sound like someone who would rather get shot in the head twice then do this.

"Y/N?" Asked the man. Silence.

"Yes." You said firmly. The door buzzed and you opened it walking in. Alma right behind you.

"I think you should wait here" you said looking down. She looked at you concerned but nodded. You started making your way up the stairs glancing back at Alma, who still looked concerned but trusted you to handle this.

You grew increasingly more nervous the higher you got up.

"just keep going" you whispered knowing Alma could probably hear you. You looked down but couldn't see her anymore. You sighed and kept heading up the stairs until standing in front of the door. You took a deep breath and knocked. The door almost shot open and a man fell out hugging you. Your eyes shot wide open. You were frozen on the spot. What on earth was going on? Would he suddenly turn and hurt you? Why was he hugging you? Was he going squeeze the life out you? No that just sounded ridiculous...

"Y/N I am so sorry! I should have reached out-I" he said placing both of his hands on your shoulders making you look at him.

"I'm so sorry for how I treated you- I...   I'm so sorry" he said looking down taking your hands then looking up again. You  were still scared though his apology seemed sincere, and he was kind before the alcohol...

"I- I don't-" you said but he cut you of

"I-I quit alcohol a couple of years ago... I just thought you wouldn't want to see me, so I didn't reach out" he said tears filling his eyes. Suddenly you forgot everything and pulled him into a hug.

"I... I brought someone with." You said carefully. He looked up smiling softly.

"I noticed" he said looking down.

"Alma?!" you called out and seconds later a bird flew up the stairs. NO! he couldn't see her turn! But he did. Were there was a bird there was now a woman with a sharp stern look.

"shit" you said quietly. Alma who had thought you were in trouble took a step back realizing what she'd just done. You looked over at Paul who turned to you with an angry expression. Fear grew inside of you and before you could even think about pulling away his grip tightened around your wrists. All of your muscles tensed, and Alma stepped closer.

"WHAT! DID YOU COME HERE TO FOOL ME" Paul suddenly yelled making you jump.

"NO-I-WHAT!" you stumbled for words as he stepped closer. Alma stretched her arm but before she could reach the two of you, you gave her a stern yet scared look. She stood still and you turned your head towards Paul again. You had no time to react before a slap came your way. You fell to the ground hitting the side of your on the stairs making blood spread across the floor. At this point Alma had had enough as your husband (soon to be ex-husband...) kicked you in the side making you moan out in pain. You could feel something warm running down your cheeks. You didn't know if it was tears or the blood from the side of your head, but maybe it was just both. Your vision was slurred but you could see Paul being pushed to the ground, soon after hitting someone beside him making them scream. Alma. You could hear her breathing rapidly. You wanted to get up. Help. But then everything went black...

_______
You'll have to wait a couple hours to know if they're all okay... of course paul doesn't have to be okay but yk...
