Blue bird

Home again.

-Alma's POV-

I see her eyes slowly disassociating and she soon enough falls. I catch her just before she hits the ground and pick her up bridal style. I carry her upstairs to my room worried something might happen to her if i'm not at her side tonight. I lay her down gently before cleaning some of the deeper cuts and marks on her body. Even though this is Not the right time, I can't help but think of how beautiful and stunning she has grown to be. Even back then she was beautiful, but now she is just... breath taking. I shake my head visibly as to shake off the thought.

"No." I say to myself and continue cleaning her cuts. I bandage some of the wounds that needed it and put some herbs on the others hoping she wouldn't move to much as not to make them fall off. Her clothes are covered in blood and I can't let her wake up like this. I unbutton her coat -which looked much like mine, only it was the colour of her feathers- hoping something would be under it not to intrude into her privacy to much. Thankfully she wore an under shirt, which to my surprise wasn't covered in blood, except a few splotches but i can live with that. I sit her up carefully and slip on a night dress over her frail body and only when it covered her whole body i removed the white pants. Because, privacy. I noticed her body was cold and grabbed a fuzzy blanket. I covered her with it, and mine and set myself beside her eventually laying down, and pulled her closer.

"I missed you, little bird" i say quietly and can't help but give her a kiss on the forehead, even though i know I shouldn't...

-Y/N's POV-

You felt yourself against something warm and on instinct nuzzle into it. You took a deep breath and on the inhale smelled vanilla and the slightest tinge of tobacco. You felt at home and brought your arms around the quell of the warmth. You slowly regained memories from yesterday, and when you heard a silent chuckle you knew what -or rather who- you were laying against. You open your eyes and inevitably look into the woman's eyes. You grew flustered and buried your face in her chest only making her laugh a little more. You smile at the sound and first now notice how much you've really missed her. Though you had never slept in the same bed as her. Speaking of-

"Wait, were is my coat?" You say trying not to sound too panicked but to your fear she had done exactly what you thought she'd done.

"Oh- well yes, it was covered in blood so i lend you one of my night gowns. You smile at her seeing the pure well intentions cast on her features, and felt that you were still wearing the shorts and undershirt you wore everyday. You smile at her and say once again;

"Missed me blue bird?" She grows flustered bit hits you right back with;

"Everyday, little bird" now you grow flustered and just nuzzle into her to hide you smile. She chuckles and on instinct both of you -at the same time- check your watches.

"We have to be-" she says before you cut her off.

"I know 11 minutes and 14 seconds" you say sitting up and glance back at her. She looks at you confused.

"... I've become quite good at the whole memorisation-of-time thing" you say smirking at her. The thought seems to ram into her as she now remembers, you are an Ymbryne too. She smiles but that changes to a confused look when she sees my smug smirk.

"What now" she says playfully. God I'd missed this woman!

"Oh me?! Nothing no no" i say overly sarcastic and she grows even more confused.

"It's just that... that is my sweater" i say nodding towards the sweater cowering her body.

"What are you" she starts but cuts herself off when she looks down and noticed she never took off the sweater. You see pink creep up her neck and chuckle a little before getting up. You walked over to the chair at her table to take your clothes. But soon enough realised... that they were covered in blood.

"Uhm... could i borrow some clothes?" You say turning around to were the woman was standing. She held two -almost- identical outfits. You laughed a little before taking it. Both of you feeling comfortable, started undressing until the realisation hit both of you like a brick.

"Oh my Bird-" you say abruptly quickly turning around. You could hear her do the same.

"I'm so sorry darling" she says and your cheeks tingle at the nickname.

"No it's alright! It's not like i thought about going out" you laugh out causing both of you to turn around again. You smile warmly at her as she returns it with a spark in her eyes. You both finished dressing and were going to head down.

"Wait, Alma?" You say as you remembered that her wards would practically jump on yours.

"Yes?"

"Could we just wake up the children? My children." You correct, and she seems to understand.

After getting your wards some clothes and updating them on what would happen you go to speak to Julie. Alone.

"Listen i would really prefer if you in the first days of being here, don't read everyones minds." You say with a stern tone yet smiling.

"But i-" she says but seems to know she will loose this battle if tales it.

"Okay..." she says a bit disappointed but quickly smiles again.

"So you and this... Woman. You know each other quite well" she says smirking and i roll my eyes with a small blush and turn to walk away.

"I know you like her!" She shouts, and for a second i'm afraid someone would hear. But she's right though.

I still love her.
