Pure Chaos

Nobody had to be told twice, much less Uriel. He took Tina by her wrist and ran as fast as he could. She screamed, obviously. Lots of people were doing the same. Screaming, pushing, trying to shove each other out of the way. The pool area was arranged so there was one staircase leading to the beach, while the rest were different entrances to different parts of the resort.

Uriel went for the beach. It was the closest escape they'd had available, but now he was starting to see it could be their doom. So many had chosen this way as well, perhaps because it led to an open field, perhaps because it was also close to them, or perhaps because there were so many that all exits were clogged up.

The reason didn't matter. What mattered was that Uriel and Tina were still too close to the pool.

"Oh god!" Tina yelled as a fist closed just next to them, trapping five people in.

Too damn close.

Caroline, or the thing that had once been Caroline, did not even bother venturing out of the pool, instead, she just reached over with her long hands and pulled people by the handful. Tourists, employees, classmates, all became limbs flailing between her fingers, all screaming "Help!" before the giantess held those hands over her head and dumped everyone in. She swallowed immediately and went right back to reaching for the crowd. She'd eaten twenty at least, and her stomach that had been flat just a second ago had started to grow in size, like a ball being inflated, only that Uriel could see bulges of people shifting as they struggled inside that stomach in an effort to try and make her sick.

Uriel looked up, Caroline didn't seem bothered by their efforts, she kept dumping people into her gullet like there was no tomorrow.

And still, the crowd was not advancing. He tried to push his way through, but it was hell. People taller and stronger than him pushed as well, and the only thing he seemed to be achieving was losing time.

He looked back. He felt it was better to have Caroline within line of sight, to be able to see those reaching hands coming to get them. He caught her just in time to see another bunch of people dumped inside her maw, being reduced to bulges traveling down her throat.

Hell, she couldn't even fit more than three in her mouth, the rest fell down the sides of her cheeks, bounced on her breasts or thighs, and landed with a splash back into the pool. From there, there was no escape. If someone held onto the border to glee, a swift swipe of her arms could send them right back in, and if anyone tried to swim to the shallow end, then Caroline would raise her leg and bring her feet down on them, creating an enormous splash and pulling them back into easy reach.

People accumulated on the deep end of the pool, to the point new arrivals fell on top of old ones rather than on the water.

They were done for, Uriel realized. He could fear for his life, but at least he had the chance to escape. Those down there, knew that once the crowd dispersed, they would be next on the menu.

They had to get out. They had to get out now.

"Move!" he shouted. They were making progress down the staircase, but it was slow, deadly slow. "Fucking move already!" What was taking so long? Did these people not see what was happening? They were about to get eaten, for god's sake! Back when they'd seen the adverts, the resort propped up by the small mountain of rocks, connected to the beach by a white staircase had seemed so fancy. Now, it was only an impediment to their escape.

Hell, why did this have to happen? Why? This was supposed to be a relaxing vacation, a good day at the pool. Tina had put on her swimsuit and everything.

"Booooouuuuuuurrrrrrrrppp."

Caroline's belch shook him out of his train of thought. It was a deep, reverberating sound that reminded them of just what the giantess saw them as. Food, pure and simple.
