Looking Out

For once, they walked through the forest, instead of running. Uriel's legs surely appreciated the change in pace, if he worked them up just the slightest bit more, they would crumble under the weight of his own body. On the downside, however, was the fact that they barely advanced in half an hour. His eyelids were beginning to feel much too heavy, and a few yawns from his classmates spread to him like a particularly bad disease.

"Alright," Thomas said. "I think that's it for tonight." He placed his flashlight on top of a rock to illuminate a small clear section of the jungle. Without having to be told, Uriel shrugged out of his backpack and began to rummage through its contents. His shoulders felt a lot lighter now, as though his weight had been halved. The two of them together, they began to raise two tents, one for the girls, and the other for them. Tina wanted to participate, handing him stuff like the hammer to fix the tent into place or illuminating the area he was working on. Though he always loved to get help from her, Uriel imagined he would've gotten everything done quicker if she hadn't been close by. God, she was distracting. The image of her, naked and gigantic, was burned into his brain, and it popped up every time he saw her. And that was only the beginning. Her newly-stuffed stomach stuck out under the shirt he had given her, which in turn drew attention to her other proportions. It had been a miracle that he'd chosen to put on a long pair of sports pants, back when they'd gotten to their rooms, otherwise her oversized hips and thighs would've been obvious to anyone. Uriel finished raising the tent with the help of Thomas, who had finished his own five minutes prior. "Alright," he said. "Everyone go to sleep, I'll be keeping guard."

"Good for me," Elise said, throwing her stuff and then herself into a tent.

"Are we sure it's a good idea, though?" Lola asked.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean..." the girl's eyes roved around each person in the group as they all stared at her. This time though, she didn't start mumbling, instead, she continued speaking with no hesitation. "Should you really be losing sleep? You're going to be driving the boat that gets us out, and you're carrying the shotgun. I don't know anyone else, but that to me seems like a lot of responsibility for someone who's been up all night. I wouldn't want you to make a mistake, because that would mean none of us would get out."

"Do you want to keep watch all night, girl?" Thomas asked.

"I'd certainly prefer it," Lola shrugged. "Maybe we can take turns. Half an hour and we wake someone up to take our place."

"I'm not going first then!" Elise exclaimed, from inside the tent. "I'm beat to shit! I need to rest!"

"I don't have a problem keeping watch," Uriel suggested.

"That'd be asking too much from you, boy. Rest, you deserve it too, after all that happened."

"No, really," Uriel insisted. "I'm fine staying up. If I get too tired, I just wake up someone else." Despite being exhausted and sleepy, he was absolutely certain that the image of his girlfriend would not let him sleep either way.

Thomas took a deep breath. "It ain't feel right. Dozing off while you children lose sleep."

"Don't worry," Tina said. "Uriel can do it just fine. You just take a good nap and be at your best tomorrow."

"All-" Thomas stopped to think, "All right, have a good night, kids." Then, he entered a tent.

Lola looked at Uriel, then handed him a digital watch she'd taken from the cabin. "Wake me up after half an hour, alright?"

He nodded. "Alright."

Uriel had greatly overestimated his ability to stay up. Ten minutes had passed, and he already regretted having volunteered for this. Everyone else had fallen asleep quickly, no chattering could be heard from the tents. Hell, no sounds could be heard from anywhere, this was a very silent night, very boring. Perhaps that was a good thing. If there were no sounds to get him distracted, he would know it immediately when a giantess came stomping her way in. Or perhaps his mind would give up first, he would fall into a deep sleep, and wake up with Mrs. Bales's tongue rolled out underneath him. That thought led him to what had happened earlier in the afternoon, being stuck inside her teacher, being licked by her, kissed by her, and the result all that had led into. He shook his head, trying to forget that.
