Chris' Point of View

When Matt called me last night asking if I remembered Taylor Carter I had to pretend I had to search my brain. Remember her, hell I hadn't stopped thinking about her for the last seven years. When he told me she needed our help I didn't hesitate. I agreed before he even told me his plan. Honestly, how hard would it be to act like I needed an assistant so she would have a job. It wasn't a problem for me to take her on as an employee, financially I wouldn't even see the difference.

Truth be told I couldn't wait to have her around all the time again. Matt said he told her I was looking for an executive personal assistant and if he was standing in front of me I would have kissed him. Giving her that job title meant I could see her both at work and at home, not that I needed an excuse to get her to my place. If she still held the feelings she did when we were at Cypress University then all I would have had to do was ask.

After I told Matt I'd do it I drew up the paperwork and told Sophia to have it ready to be signed first thing this morning. The girl was an airhead, but at least she knew how to do what she was told. She may have been very submissive but if she kept breaking the rules by wearing revealing clothing, I was going to have to add to the dress code again.

Heather from the main lobby sent me a message telling me Matt and Taylor were here. I stood in front of the window of my office waiting for them, wondering what was taking so long. I kept picturing the girl I left behind when I dropped out of college my junior year. Looking down at my forearms I debated rolling down the sleeves of my white button down shirt. It wouldn't completely hide the tattoos that covered both my arms but it might make her not notice them as fast. The last time she saw me I only had one tattoo. The mountain range that wrapped around my right forearm was done when I first graduated high school. Once I left college I just kept getting them, the more money I made the easier it was to get them and for some reason the pain never got to me.

I didn't have time to even think about the three buttons that were undone and exposing the tattoos at the top of my chest before Matt walked through the door. I said a quick hello to him before laying my eyes on the most beautiful girl. Or should I say woman. Gone was the quiet, shy girl I remembered from college.

The first time I saw Taylor was when we helped her and Madison move into their dorm for the first time. I thought she was the most beautiful girl I had ever seen but when Declan kissed her hand I backed off. I wasn't going to compete with him for this girl's attention even though I wanted to break his hand for even touching her.

However, it didn't matter that I snuck a long glance every time I brought another box to her room because that night as we walked down to meet the girls in the dining hall for dinner Matt told us both girls were off limits. I assumed that was because he saw them both as sisters but I saw the looks he gave Taylor when she wasn't looking and I would never look at my sister like that.

We found the girls sitting in a corner booth in the back of the cafeteria. I noticed both girls' plates were drastically different. It shouldn't have been odd since it was set up as a buffet and once you were in you could have whatever you wanted but it stood out to me. While Madison had some kind of pasta dish with bread and a soda, Taylor had a glass of water, a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and tater tots.

"Are those..." I started to ask.

She looked up at me through her lashes embarrassed but I could tell she was trying to hide it, "Tater tots? Yeah, I know it's childish but they're kind of my comfort food." She hung her head again as if preparing for some kind of lashing.

I would do anything to not see her hang her head like that for the rest of her life. I made a silent promise to myself to always try and make her happy no matter what.
