Matt's Point of View
I would not marry Taylor as a part of some contract. I wanted to marry her out of love and because there wasn't a closer way I could be to her. The thought of telling her I was doing it because Ronan forced my hand made me feel sick to my stomach. She deserved much more than me telling her it was something we had to do.
"You two were just talking about marriage." Chris tried to reason with me, "You know she would say yes."
"Perfect!" My dad clapped his hands together, "I can get your mother on it and you'll be married by the end of the week."
"No." I growled, "I am not marrying her because that O'Leary bastard forced my hand. Would you?" I looked between Declan and Chris.
"I would if it would save her life." Declan responded without hesitation.
Chris nodded his head, "Make her forbidden, and then he won't be able to take her."
"You two should know better than that. You saw how he was at the club when his hand was around her throat. Do you really think he would care if she was married or not?"
They both looked away from me. We all knew I was right and they wouldn't argue with me. I looked back over at my dad who had clearly zoned out trying to come up with another idea.
"Is there any other business we need to take care of?" I picked up Chris' glass and drank the rest of it.
My dad let out an irritated breath, "No. We have a shipment coming in tomorrow but I will put someone else on it. You three need to stick to Taylor until this shit is figured out."
I nodded my head and motioned for the guys to leave the office. I hugged my dad and told him to let mom know we would come to visit her soon. It was definitely time for us to show people that the four of us were a couple.
We were almost to Maddie's apartment when my phone rang and I panicked, "Taylor? What's wrong?"
"Hello to you too. Nothing's wrong I was just calling to see if you guys were done with your meeting. Believe it or not," she giggled at her thoughts before she could even speak them, "I miss you guys."
"We miss you too, amore. How is packing going? Are Enzo and Camillo being helpful or are they in the way?"
"Enzo is being a great help. Who knew he was so good at making sure we used all the available space we had? But, um, who's Camillo?"
"Enzo said he was bringing his son. Maybe he couldn't end up coming after all. Anyway, we should be there in a few minutes to help you out."
"Good." she giggled and it was the best sound, "I look forward to watching sexy guys carry my stuff while I do nothing."
"Don't even think about it. Chris might call you a principessa, but that doesn't mean I won't put that fine ass of yours to work." There was a loud clanging noise followed by a small ding, "Are you in the elevator?"
"Yeah, just taking a box down to the car. So how was your meeting?"
I sighed not really wanting to talk about the meeting but I knew she had the right to know, "It didn't go the way I had hoped but we did get the story Greg gave us confirmed."
"Is that a good thing or a bad thing?" Another ding followed her question signaling the end of her elevator ride.
"Both I guess. Means you were actually sold to the O'Leary's but at least now we know what we are up against." I signaled to pull to the side of the road and saw Taylor walk out of her building. The phone was tucked between her ear and shoulder as she carried what looked like a garbage bag with hanger hooks poking out the top.
