I slip on my favorite cardigan; I exhale softly. Seungkwan had been bugging me to have breakfast with him since last night; Mingyu even volunteered to join us, catching Seungkwan and me by surprise. Of course, I had to give in to join due to Mingyu being the company's CEO. No one can say no to him; literally, he would pout all day.
I push my hair behind my ear as I grab my shoes and bag before walking out of my room, "You're up early, especially on a Saturday." Hansol said, closing the kitchen cabinet. "Yeah, well, Seungkwan kept pestering me about having breakfast and that Mingyu is joining us," I said. Eunseo smiled as she turned off the stove. "That's great Liz; you're making small progress." She says; Hansol nods. "Good, you're doing good, Lizzy." He said I gave them a small smile before leaving the apartment.
I tie my shoes, waiting for the elevator to arrive; I receive a text from Seungkwan as I step inside.
Seungkwan: Just stepped inside the lobby.
The elevator doors open, and I spot the cheerful guy immediately. He wasn't wearing his usual grey suit, but instead casual clothes. It felt strange seeing people out of work; it's also something I'm not used to. "Good morning, Lizzy," Seungkwan greets cheerfully; I give him a small smile. "Morning," I said, he holds the door open. "So I discovered this really amazing breakfast cafe that I thought you'd fall in love with; also, Mingyu texted saying he would join us after his morning meeting." He says, almost breathless. I bite my lip and let a small laugh leave my lips, "Maybe you should try to keep the sentences short and breathe steady." I said. Seungkwans smiles and nods.
We got to his grey Toyota, "So, did Mingyu give you a hard time last night?" He asked, opening the passenger door for me. I let a sigh escape my lips, "Not really," I said, getting inside his car. He closed the door and hurried to the driver's side, "Not really, that's the first," Seungkwan said as he started the car. "Well, Mingyu kept changing his mind every minute, causing Minghao to be fed up and threatening him. If he didn't make up his mind, he would kill him." I said; Seungkwan chuckles. "Mingyu is just annoying sometimes." He said; I chuckled and nodded.
"You know those two will be at the Christmas party; you should try it and join us for the party," Seungkwan suggests. I bite my lip and shake my head, "I'd rather not go; parties aren't my kind of scene." I said. Seungkwan hums, "Why is that? If you don't mind me asking." He said. I look at him and focus my attention back on the streets, "Just bad experiences, that's all, and nothing more." I said, keeping my statement short. I think Seungkean understood what I meant and gave a small apology.
"I don't like talking about my experiences. Don't feel bad about asking; I just don't like talking about them," I said. Seungkwan had a concerned expression. I look at the screen of my phone, "I'm still sorry for trying to break you out of your comfort zone like that; I had no idea you—you hate it, so I'll make sure to keep it in mind." He said. I smile faintly, "It's okay...I'm just used to not talking about anything else besides work and hobbies." I said. We arrived at a parking lot, and Seungkwan turned the car off.
"Well then, let me know if I step out of your comfort zone, and I'll switch topics, okay." He says; getting out of the car, I remove the seatbelt. Seungkwan seems to be more understanding than I thought; he opens the door for me again. I thanked him as he locked the car. I follow him to a cute yet classic cafe, "What do you think?" Seungkwan asked as we entered the building. It looks like a cafe diner, but with bookshelves in the back of the shop, it's cute. Beige and white are the main look; it's very aesthetic.
"It's like a cafe diner, and a bookstore all mushed into one...I love it." I said with a smile. Seungkwan smiles and chuckles, "I knew you would like it; come on, let's eat. They have the best pancakes and French crepes." He says, walking over to a booth. A small sigh leaves my lips as I sit down; the cafe is incredible. Various decorations fill the cafe, from art portraits to cat pictures.
