I look down at the glass of wine Lucia had handed me, "Are you doing okay?" Wonwoo's voice made my tummy erupt with butterflies. I look at him as he sits beside me, "Yeah just overwhelmed by it all." I said with a small smile. His knee grazes mine softly, "I know...it's a lot of new people in an hour." He says. I nod and giggle, "Yeah but they're all nice and sweet." I said looking over to see Yerin, Lucia, and Seokmin's one-year-old baby girl walking.
"But I think I found myself a favorite person here," I said looking at Wonwoo, "Oh really? Who would that be?" He asks with a cheeky grin. "Yerin...her cute round cheeks and eyes won a special place in my heart," I said, Wonwoo laughed and looked over at the baby. "She is cute...adorable." He says I look at him with a smile. "Everyone here is primarily dating within the group...well except for Seungkwan, Chan, Minghao, and you," I said eyeing the huddle of what most women would call single men, bachelors.
Wonwoo's knee collides with mine lightly, I turn to look at him. "Chan is seeing someone but it's complicated as he says, Minghao well he's Minghao and likes his quiet life at the moment. As for Seungkwan, he's too busy with work that he's stopped looking." Wonwoo says as he picks up the glass of whiskey, I bite my bottom lip and nod in acknowledgment. "What about you?" I asked, Wonwoo looked at me with a stern gaze. "What about me?" He asks, his tone deeper than usual and low.
"Are you seeing someone?" I ask, my heart pounding so fast that I could hear the faint pit-a-patter in my ears. Wonwoo lets out a laugh, his gaze falls on his drink. "Ani, I'm not." He says with a chuckle, I nod. I looked at Yerin who was clinging to her father's leg, I smiled faintly and took a sip of the wine. "Lizbeth..." Wonwoo says, I let my attention go to him. "You know...we haven't properly got to know each other that much." He says, I swallow hard. Does he mean knowing each other's past?
"What do you mean?" I asked, feeling skeptical. "How long have you been living in Seoul?" He asked, I smiled softly and let a sigh escape my lips. "Well, I have been here since I was seventeen. I met Eunseol in high school and from there on we've been roommates. So three years" I said with a sad smile, Wonwoo turned his body to me. My heart melts, is he giving me his full attention?
"How long have you been in the medical field?" I asked, Wonwoo rests his elbow on the headset of the couch. "I have been in the medical for about four years now." He says with a small smile, I bite back a smile. "And you? What made you get into business? Especially with Mingyu?" Wonwoo's questions were nothing to be skeptical about, I chuckle. "I was originally studying Psychology Forensics, but I couldn't handle the cases I had to learn about so I switched to Business Career. Actually, I'm currently doing Mortuary Science, but all the classes weren't available in person so it's all online" I said with a smile.
Wonwoo giggles, "Mortuary Science, why doesn't that surprise me?" He says. I laugh, "I know, it's crazy." I said, Wonwoo shakes his head. "It's not, I mean I can see you as a Mortician." He says, I look at my lap trying to hide my shyness. "What else is there to you?" I asked getting comfortable on the couch, turning my body to him carefully so as not to have my skirt hike up. "I—Everyone here would tell you that I like to spend my time reading, traveling, photography, and bike riding." He says pushing his glasses up.
I don't know if it's the alcohol taking effect on me but I find Wonwoo attractive...almost like I'm slowly falling into the deep end of a sea that leaves me feeling scared of what's at the other end.
"You travel?" I asked looking at him, "Yeah, I like to see and experience other cities." He says. I nod, "Besides books and work what do you spend your time on?" Wonwoo asked, I bite my bottom lip. "Mhmm, I like to cook and bake new recipes I stumble across. I like classic and vintage cars, and well I don't do much besides work and read." I say feeling shy and embarrassed. Wonwoo smiles and bites his bottom lip, I take a quick sip of the wine. God, why is it suddenly so hot?
