I exhale sharply as she walks out the front door, I let out a sigh of frustration and walk back up the stairs.
"Where's Lizzy?" Mingyu asked, his grin disappearing as I gave him a stern gaze. I walk over to the balcony's edge, I furrowed my brows when I see Minghao entering through the gates. Mingyu comes up, "I'm guessing this is the last time I play Cupid?" He asks. I look at him, "I never asked you to..." I said turning my gaze back to Minghao as I watched him pull Lizbeth into his arms. I lean against the railing and look down, "It's better this way, she won't get hurt. Lizbeth has been through a lot already." I say.
I turned my gaze back to Lizbeth, she was crying and I couldn't comfort her this time. "You know...telling her about Jinyoung may not seem like a bad idea. I mean it's Lizbeth, she's understanding and knows that you mean no harm." Mingyu says as he turns to look at Minghao leading Lizbeth to his car, "Also Minghao beat you to it..." He says crossing his arms and leaning against the railing. "What?" I look at him, "Yeah, Hao confessed to Lizbeth at the Tennis court." Mingyu says.
He shakes his head as we watch the red Camaro drive off, "Lizbeth on the other hand turned him down...Minghao is a great man, I'm surprised she turned him down. And that could only mean two things," Mingyu says pushing himself away from the railing, I look at him. "She likes you or she isn't interested in dating but given the fact that she left the party with a broken heart...I say she likes you but you are scared of hurting her." He says I look at the fireworks. "Unless you're terrified that she'll turn out like Mitxy," Mingyu says.
I scoff, "Lizbeth is ten times a better person than Mitxy, she wouldn't lie...she wouldn't use someone for her own greed." I said I crossed my arms and looked at Mingyu. "No Lizbeth is a sweet, slightly naive, and independent person," I said, Mingyus chuckles. "Lizbeth is a woman Wonwoo, she is the most amazing woman you've stumbled upon. Do you not see Lizbeth as a woman? Or has Mitxy stirred complications within you?" He asks with a smirk, I rolled my eyes. "Lizbeth...I—I do see her as a woman but I'm just not the man for her...I mean my life is already fucked up enough and bringing her into that will only... destroy her." I say kicking at the pebbles.
Mingyu sighs and shakes his head, "You don't know Lizbeth do you? I mean has she told you something about her life?" He asks. I look and tilt my head slightly, "Just that her mother worked so much she hardly saw her and her father was absent most of the time." I said. Mingyu laughs, "I guess Lizbeth does lie...god it's not my place to say this but...Lizbeth's life wasn't always filled with innocence Wonwoo, her relationship with her parents is shitty. Her mother never acted like a mother and her father well he was absent most of her life. Lizbeth is a woman who comes from a shitty childhood but she managed to get through life on her own. That is why I admire her...Lizbeth is strong and independent but because she was forced to." Mingyu says with a sad sigh.
"Lizbeth needs someone in her life to show her that being vulnerable is okay and that depending on someone isn't a burden," Mingyu says patting my shoulder, "You need to come to terms that you need someone to sweeten your 'fucked up' life." He says with a smile before walking over to Lucia.
I let a sigh escape my lips and looked at the pebbles, can I really let someone like Lizbeth be part of my life? Wouldn't I just end up hurting her?
