I haven't seen Wonwoo since the appointment with Dr. Hong, it was strange not hearing from him. Given the fact, he seemed worried that day.
I bite my lip as I try to concentrate on the Spanish horror podcast playing on the TV as I chop up the carrots for today's dinner, I put the knife down as I put the chopped carrots aside.
Pouring all my chopped veggies into the hot frying pan and stirring them to be grilled to a brown color, my mind still couldn't focus on the horror tale of Duendes. The Mexican folklore of small mischievous gnom-like creatures that are supposed to bring luck in every aspect of life but in reality, they live off terrifying children and make every adult's life a living hell.
I turn the stove to medium heat and grab the seasoned ground beef from the fridge, I pour the meat into the grilled veggies and stir till it is cooked. Dr. Hong was very strict about my eating habits, so I had to stick with small portions to start fixing those bad habits. I grabbed a plate and fork served the cooked pasta then poured the meat, before I could place the sauce over it the doorbell rang.
I turned off the TV and set the plate down on the counter, I grabbed the knife and walked over to the front door. My fingers tapped lightly on the screen revealing a tired Seungkwan, I unlocked the door and opened it. "Well, Ms. Introvert when were you planning to fill me in about the new details of your life?" He asked crossing his arms, I let out a small sigh and shook my head. I let him, "Lizbeth I've—why do you have a knife in your hand?" Seungkwan asked.
"Precautions, Detective Yoon is still investigating. What brings you to my door?" I asked locking it and walking back into the kitchen setting the knife down, "Soonyoung and Mingyu have told me about your visit to Joshua's office, are you okay?" Seungkwan asks. I looked at him and grabbed an extra plate, I smiled faintly. "Not really, two new diagnoses in one day is not what I expected," I said serving him some of the pasta.
I set the plates on the counter, "Since you're here might as well eat with me. Dr. Hong wants me to try to eat more than fruits and veggies." I said. I pour strawberry lemonade into two tall glasses, "You need to tell me everything I missed, especially how it was with Wonwoo living with you for a short time." He says taking a seat. I smile and chuckle as I hand him the glass. "It was okay living with him, we were able to be a little more open about our personal lives," I said sitting on the kitchen stool, "Then did you tell him everything?" Seungkwan asks.
I bite my lip and twirl my fork into the pasta, "Not everything just small bits, he did tell me about his brother and dad. How it's just them three but he lives alone here in Seoul." I said putting the forkful of food in my mouth. Seungkwan sighed and picked up the fork, "Soonyoung told me that you're having night terrors again. Are they the same ones?" He asked. I took another forkful of pasta and shook my head, "No, these ones are different...Dr. Lee says that these night terrors are likely caused by the whole stalking case." I said taking a sip of lemonade.
Seungkwan hums before taking a bite of the pasta, I smile seeing his eyes widen. "You know for a beginner, you're actually an amazing cook." He says with a smile, I laugh lightly and look down at my place. "Really? Cooking and baking are just hobbies that I learned to love, besides books and mortuary." I said, Seungkwan laughs. "How are classes by the way?" He asked, I bite my lip. "They're okay I should be graduating in May," I said, Seungkwan grins. "Well then I wouldn't miss it," He says, I chuckle.
"Oh right, tomorrow Soonyoung, Mingyu, Minghao, Seungcheol, and I are playing tennis do you want to join us? I don't want you locked up in this apartment with everything that's happening I can't bare any longer the idea of leaving you alone." He says before drinking his lemonade, I finish the remaining pasta. I grabbed the napkin and wiped away any sauce off my mouth, "Tennis? I thought Mingyu and Soonyoung didn't like that," I said. Seungkwan nods, "They don't but they're willing to try it, so do you want to?" He asked. I bite my bottom lip and look at the empty plate.
I mean it could distract me from the whole stalking case and Dr. Lee did say I should try to distract my mind from slipping into paranoia. I look at Seungkwan and smile, "Okay, I'll go." I said. He grins and finishes his drink, "Great, now about Wonwoo." He says with a smirk. I rolled my eyes and pick the empty plates, "What about him?" I asked.
"Hello, you two were alone for two days," He says crossing his arms, I finish washing the dishes and look at him while removing the rubber gloves. "Nothing happened between us..." I said feeling my cheeks heat up, I wiped down the sink counter with a rag. I walk to the fridge, "You're blushing Lizzy, what happened??" He asked with a laugh. I bite my bottom lip and pull out two banana creme pudding cups I made this morning, "Nothing just...all he did was comfort me during my night terrors that's it." I said closing the fridge.
I handed him one, "I made it this morning," I said. Seungkwans eyes me and takes the pudding, "Like how did he comfort you?" He asked. I let out a scoff-like laugh, "Seungkwan he—he would lay in bed with till I fell back asleep or he would hold me and tell small bits of his childhood." I said taking a spoonful of pudding to hide my blushing cheeks. Seungkwan lets out a small chuckle, "Yah, that's a big deal Lizzy. It's Wonwoo, everyone within our group has known him for months and years. He's usually the cold and serious type, which is why I'm surprised he's taken an interest in you." He says.
I look at him, "You're the most amazing woman ever, you're a shy introvert but outspoken when you feel comfortable. It surprises me that you managed to melt Wonwoo's icy walls after what happened with Mitxy and Seungcheol." Seungkwan says. He covers his mouth in surprise, I look at him with furrowed brows. "What happened?" I asked but he continued to eat the pudding without any other word. "Seungkwan." I said, he cleared his throat and places the empty cup on the counter. "I—it's not my place to say anything, it slipped out of my mouth. God Wonwoo's going to kill me," He says muttering the last sentence.
I sighed and looked at the counter with confusion, so something did happen between the three. But what exactly?
