"What?!" Dream exclaimed as he shot up from the armchair.
"I'm sorry, Dream. But we got no other choice." Philza sighed defeatedly.
"It's suicide and you know it." Dream stated firmly while anger boiled just beneath the surface.
Philza stayed quiet while his grey eyes surveyed Dream's reaction. The man didn't possess abilities like him yet Dream always felt like the grey eyes had the capacity to measure a person's deepest feelings and thoughts.
"Again, I'm sorry. Said situation is everything but optimal. However, if we do nothing, it's a given fact that our time here is coming to a brutal end."
Anger polluted his ability to think clearly. Philza had explained that their spy had confirmed suspicions that the soon-to-be king planned on annihilating their home. Exactly how he planned on achieving something that generations of rulers before him had failed to do, was still a mystery. But the spy had warned them from underestimating the prince, whose personality was described as cunning and calculated.
Philza wanted to put the mission in motion, beginning tomorrow. Apparently had their inside source been placed in jail before he could disclose the most important detail, something supposedly so crucial that Dream, Sapnap and George needed to go undercover and rescue the person.
The risk of a mission going wrong was always present. However, never had Dream been asked to break someone out of prison. His resentful attitude towards the task was only increased by the third party that Philza insisted joined him and Sapnap. Dream initially tried to bargain George out of the mission, but Philza didn't bulge, claiming that the brunette possessed useful qualities that none other in their camp had access to. And to be fair, Philza's reasoning wasn't difficult to follow. But Dream's heart hated the idea of putting George in such danger.
A frustrated sight left his mouth as he slumped back down in the chair. He knew that he was being unreasonable for acting so difficult. To refuse would doom them all and George was a grown man, capable of making his own decisions. But there was one thing that no one told him about love, how selfish you became. To lose George would mean to lose himself in the process. He'd rather die a thousand times than having to witness the death of the first person he loved on a deeper level than friendship.
After a moment of silence, Dream eventually caved. "Fine. We'll take care of it."
Philza gave him a sad smile. "I know you will."

George had switched from the shorts to a loose baby blue t-shirt combined with a pair of black baggy pants and sat curled up on his bed with a book in his lap as Dream got there. All the candles were lit, creating a cozy atmosphere.
The brunette tore his gaze from the book and welcomed him with a soft smile while the dark locks swirled around his head in an adorably messy way. Causing Dream's heart to beat like never before.
"So, what did Philza want?" George asked while closing the book.
Dream groaned internally at the reminder but knew that it was as good of a time as any to tell George the news. "He wants us to leave tomorrow. Our spy has been captured and apparently holds a vital piece of information. So, he wants us to free him." Dream recited as he set sight for his bed.
George face stayed an unreadable mask, but his gaze never left Dream who laid down on his stomach.
"Information regarding what?" The brunette questioned.
