Dream and Sapnap was quick to tail after George. Dream couldn't help but stare at the brunette that was drenched in blood, dried and fresh. Something was wrong with George, but Dream couldn't pinpoint what.

They sprinted through the soldiers. Sapnap and George were eagerly discussing how to best spread the lava. While they were busy discussing was Dream fighting off anyone that dare to attack. The soldiers were unsettlingly close to the forest now.

"We let the lava rain over the field and thereafter I'll created rain." George explained.

"You can do that?" Dream countered skeptically.

George faced him. Dream's heart stopped. Despite all the blood and gore, George still looked ethereal. Much like the first time by the waterfall. But he'd been right. Something was awfully wrong. The pale skin radiated power, Dream could almost feel it. However, the biggest giveaway was the eyes. The usual blue and brown eyes were now completely blue. Not a trace of the deep brown was left.

"I can now." George answered simply.

Without further notice, his two friends headed opposite directions. Dream didn't know exactly what to do so he decided to create more tunnels down to the magma.

Then it began. Screams echoed as lava fell over the battlefield. It only worsened as time passed. Dream created a platform for himself as the lava started sliding over the ground. Soldiers tried desperately to search for highpoints to save themselves, but as it began falling from the sky it was over.

Watching humans run around, frantically trying to survive was the most animalistic scene Dream had ever witnessed. People climbed on top of others to save themselves. No regards for their fellow men.

Flooding the field had been highly effective. A few people survive, but they too met their end when dark clouds formed above them and a rain so powerful that it only took a few seconds before streams were forming on the ground.

The lava turned black as obsidian was created. Dream made a roof of stone to protect himself from the falling obsidian pieces.

The glistering ground turned black, and the screams got fewer and fewer. Eventually there wasn't more than a handful survivors left.

So, this was how it all ended?

The war between the kingdom and the residents in the forest had gone on for decades, but it had been a silent one. One that until that point hadn't harvested many lives. This was the first truly violent altercation.

Raindrops kept falling and washed away the horrors. The layer of obsidian covering the ground would be a lasting reminder of this day. Dream believed that he could gradually remove it and let nature restore the ground below, but obsidian was a stubborn material and would take ages to fully remove. Although, with George's help, maybe it wouldn't take forever.

Speaking of George. The brunette was carefully wandering down the battlefield. As the water washed away the blood from George's features, Dream got even more worried that something was wrong.

The brunette caught him staring and even though they were far away he saw the mellow smile on George's face. Dream furrowed his brows and jumped down and relished the feeling of cold rain cleaning the blood from his body.

He began wandering towards George who was standing in the middle of the field. Only then did Dream remember that the royal family remained alive. His eyes darted their way and his breathing hitched when he saw a sand-haired person sprinting towards George with a sword in his right hand.

His body froze, he tried shouting George's name and force his body to move but failed. When Ethan was only a few meters away from George did Dream regain his ability to move.

He ran. Faster than he thought was humanly possible.

"George!" He screamed.

Once last glance was all that he got in response. George made no attempts to protect himself from the incoming attack.

No, no, no, no, no.

The brothers collided. Dream was so close yet so far away. He saw the sword going through George's stomach.

The brunette fell down without any sound. Ethan twisted the sword, but George still made no sound.

Dream couldn't think clearly. Yet, he managed to forge a knife out of obsidian and kept running until he reached Ethan. Dream saw red when he got to the prince that was kneeling by George's body. One kick to his head, then gripping his hair, exposing his neck and slashing it wide open. If Ethan pleaded for his life was something Dream would never know. Everything happened too quickly.

He stirred around but couldn't find George. Repeatedly he shouted his name without any response.

Rage consumed his mind and suddenly he noticed how his emotions had ripped the ground apart as his mind subconsciously searched for George.

"Where is he, where is he, where is he–" Dream rambled while turning even the smallest rock.

Someone placed a hand on his shoulder. For a split second, Dream thought it was George, but his heart sank when his eyes met Sapnap's.

"Dream..." The ravenette tried.

"Don't." Dream cut him off, fearing what he was about to say.

Thoughts were twisting and turning in Dream's mind. He was desperate for answers.

"Your end will be their beginning." Sapnap mumbled.

Dream stilled. No. That couldn't be what Bad was insinuating. It couldn't.

His gaze darted to Sapnap. "It can't – He can't be–" He stuttered.

"George was never meant to make it." Sapnap confessed.

Dream shot up and roughly gripped the ravenette's collar. "That's not true!" Dream yelled. "Who the fuck decided that?!" He screamed accusingly.

Sapnap gripped his wrists firmly and forced Dream to look at him. "It said so in his book and the book Wilbur found in the library. George knew that this was how it would end too."

This couldn't be it. Dream wouldn't accept it. Streams of water purled towards the sea. He needed to find George and if there was one place he'd be, it be by the sea.

So, Dream ran.
