Your POV

I played with Anya just like another typical day.

"Nee-chan! Let's play princess!" Anya asked, looking at me star-eyed.

I sighed, as I smiled.

"Sure Anya,"

I used scraps of newspaper and put it around Anya's waists to make it look like a skirt. Anya yelped and jumped around in happiness.

"Nee-chan! You'll be the dragon and I defeat you!" Anya said, as I nodded in response.

A man came in while I was scaring Anya, he was tall and wore a green suit with a red tie. I shrugged it off, knowing he wouldn't take me. Anyone who came to the orphanage would only take younger kids, which is why I was never chosen. And whenever Anya was chosen, she wouldn't allow the people to take her if I wasn't going with her.

Past POV

"Yeah, you can take this freak," the drunk man said.

"Ok, pink hair let's go," he said while pointing at Anya.

"W-Will you take Akari nee-chan?" she asked, hoping I would come.

I grabbed, and looked into Anya's eyes, as I smiled softly and hugged her.

"Anya ran away from here, come save me one day," I said, as Anya refused.

No matter how hard I tried she would never leave me side. Which part of me was relieved.

Back to normal POV

The man walked over. I examined him, he looked like a wealthy man. Anya will need to leave, this man could take care of her way better than I could ever. And that will make my missions way easier to deal with.

"Um, excuse me, kind sir, I'm looking for a very bright child in this facility if that is possible," the man asked the owner.

"Well, if you're looking for a bright child then you might as well take this kid. She can solve any mystery and answer any equations with the littlest of clues and in a short amount of time," he said, while pointing at me.

The man looked down, a bit disappointed, I could guess. He was probably looking for someone Anya's age. Suddenly, the owner pointed at Anya.

"She's also a very smart child,"

I narrowed my eyes, this bastard just wanted Anya to go away. His tone and face gave it all away.

Suddenly the man's eyes lit up.

"I'll take both of them!"

I widened my eyes in shock, there was no way he just said that. I looked at Anya who was also really stoked to finally find someone who wanted the two of us together. I was really happy that both Anya and I could finally live happily.

"Any paperwork needed?" the man asked.

"Nah, just take them,"

The man nodded, as we started to walk away. I held Anya's hand tightly as I looked back at the orphanage one more time. I couldn't believe it, this was the second place I lived in ever since I left that cruel place. The place where I... Don't think about it, Akari.

Anya looked at me, as she smiled.

"Nee-chan! We'll be together forever!" she said brightly. The man looked at us, and smiled softly. Something told me that the smile he was plastering on his face wasn't exactly true. Was he faking it? Or doing this for his own deeds? I looked away, not really fond of the person that was about to be my new father. I made sure to leave a note by the window so the Owl that usually gives me missions and such knows that I moved somewhere else and to send me the missions at the new location.
