FIRST PERSON POV

Here I was. Sitting beside Ryan. He was all giddy as he sat beside me. I tried to shut him up so I could work.

"All these areas seem to have been striked during a designated time and place. Every single place was a landmark in both Ostania and Westalis. They don't seem to have a pattern... Maybe it's not the time they attack but rather how they attacked..." I said out loud.

"What do you mean by Cruel Hero?" Ryan said, as he peeked over my shoulder.

"Look. Traveling guides help with Ostania's trading agreement. Maybe instead of following up with when they attacked, in which the time here is useless.."

"So?"

"Maybe it's how. Traveling guides, they were killed during October. The most quiet time. October seems a little odd. So maybe instead of the time we check the name,"

"I see..."

I stood there trying to crack the problem for a good four hours. Ryan started to get restless.

"Do you need any help, Cruel Hero!" he said happily.

"I'm going to assign you on a mission," I said, as Ryan stopped talking. He sat straight up.

"What do you mean?" he asked, as he tilted his head.

"The friends I have currently won't help with my plan to stop this mysterious mafia. So, you will be the new student in my class. Puzzle can assign you in my class," I said, as I kept focusing on Ryan.

"Huh- but wait... that means I can see your face!" Ryan said, as he jumped up.

"I don't see why I can't show you right now," I said, as Ryan widened his eyes.

"A-Are you sure?? Even Perpetual and The Unknown don't know what you look like!" Ryan said.

I untied the knots behind my head as Ryan started to freak out. As I took my mask off, Ryan widened his eyes. He fell to his knees.

"When she is smart as hell, strong as hell, and pretty as hell," Ryan said, worshiping the figure in front of him. I brought my gentle hands and touched Ryan's cheek. I smiled softly.

"Will you help me with my mission?" I asked softly, as I went towards his ears, "I'll even do whatever you want if we succeed in this mission."

Ryan widened his eyes, he was a blushing mess. He shook his head trying to focus. "I-I would've obeyed whether you made that deal or not."

"Thanks Ryan. You'll start tomorrow got it?" I said, as he widened his eyes as I got up and took my bag to go back home. Ryan nodded vigorously as he held on to the cheek I was holding. I left. As Ryan was crouched on the ground, still trying to process what had happened.

THE NEXT DAY

"I HEARD THERE'S TWO NEW STUDENTS GOING TO OUR SCHOOL!" Emily said, before jumping up and down. She hugged me... a little too tight.

"Yeah yeah, good to know," I said, as Emily smiled. Hikari and Katashi caught up to us. I scanned the area of our school.

As we walked through we entered our class. I went up to my seat and I sat down. Katashi seemed a little more distant. I shrugged it off. As some were studying, some were talking, and some were doodling, I put my head down on my desk.

Ryan should be coming today. If he's here, then it'll be easier to talk to him. And try to crack this code. I thought, as I looked up and smiled. It was Ryan with our teacher. Everything is going as planned.
