The room had remained tense, as no one had dared to speak. The students watched as Emily was standing faraway from George. On the other hand, George was just minding his own business, not giving a care in the world whether Emily had decided to work with him or not.
Demetrius sighed, as he continued to do his work. Akari awkwardly sat beside him, as she tried to understand what was going on with the two.
"Uh, what's up with them?" Akari asked warily, as she tried to understand both parties. Perhaps she could help mend this long lasting rivalry or enemies thing?
"I wasn't exactly there when this whole hatred began, but whatever happened must have pissed the two of them a lot. Because they used to be really close, like inseparable. But now, suddenly they hate each other?" Demetrius was asking the question himself. Akari decided to ask a bit more about it.
"So... were you friends with George when he was friends with Emily?" Akari had asked, trying to gain more information.
"Yeah, we were friends until Emily and Hikari decided to start some rivalry between us," Demetrius replied, as he stopped writing for a second, and tightened his grip on the pencil. Akari had noticed this action, and she had understood that Demetrius, the distant person from the group, also misses the old group. Perhaps he too wanted the old group to be back together once again.
"So George didn't tell you about the conflict?" Akari asked, as Demetrius nodded. Akari nodded, thanking him for the information.
"Can we work now? I would rather not fail this assignment," Demetrius had said, as Akari nodded. She sat beside Desmond, as they began to work.
The silence was somewhat comforting, as the two had finished the assignment quickly. They had spent around twenty five minutes on it, just scribbling their answers on the pages.
"Wow, you're actually pretty intelligent," Demetrius had said, "Well, that is to be expected, since you got like six stellas right as you came into this school."
"Thank you!" Akari had replied, as Demetrius kept a straight face and nodded. He handed in the assignment, as Akari decided to try and understand what the conflict between George and Emily could be.
Demetrius had said that George didn't tell him about the conflict. I could tell he wasn't lying, in fact he was kind of disappointed. Perhaps... George wants to forgive Emily, and wants to say sorry about whatever had happened... but...
Akari then remembered during the day where she had met George's family, in the restaurant with her family, they had mumbled ever so slightly, "Thank you Akari Forger '' and before that they were talking about friends. So... Perhaps...
He's afraid of rejection, and being left alone again. Akari summed up. She didn't really know any of her 'friends' and she had just realized how mysterious Emily was. She didn't really know anything about her.
Akari decided to go to Ryan and Hikari, hoping to get some information out of Hikari. She sat beside Ryan, with her usual smiley face.
"Hikari, I was wondering... Do you know what the problem might be between George and Emily?" Akari had asked, with curiosity radiating off her voice, "Of course, if it's too personal, you don't have to respond," she reassured.
Hikari was hesitant, it was like she had wanted to tell someone but she didn't, it's fine right? I think we can trust Akari...
"If I told you. what would you do with the information?" Hikari asked, trying to make sure the Forger wouldn't try to pull off any tricks.:
"Well, I think I'll try to mend whatever problem is going on between the two of them," Akari replied, smiling brightly. Hikari just laughed, knowing fully well that nothing could make them become close friends once again.
