||Chapter Thirty-Five||
ConnectionNour's eyes were glistening and battling the urge to cry. She didn't comprehend at first, but while finalizing what Sarah sent, she was moaning desperately. She couldn't assume that Sarah had been through all of this, and she was dragged to that and out of her control. She couldn't accept that the son of bitch was blackmailing Sarah to only replenish his desires. And what about Hamza? Hamza all this time was capturing the wrong picture. Hamza's capriciousness and impulsiveness made him see Sarah as the villain of the story. Sarah was never the bad character but Nour felt that she, herself, was a bad character indeed. She was the one who kidnapped Hamza and owned something that wasn't hers in the first place. She tossed the phone at the end of her bed and rumbled her legs up to her chin and sobbed heartedly. She would never disregard what just happened and would never forgive herself. Sarah was only screaming for help but Hamza thought she was screaming for pleasure! All of them were blind. No one of them witnessed the truth and no one ever tried to figure out what really happened. Nour accused herself of only hearing the story from one side only. She couldn't believe how hurt Sarah was and how she was feeling back then.
Sarah was treating Nour so cheaply at first. It was her way to let Nour go away so she could own Hamza again when she figured a way out of the hell where she was living. Sarah may be rough and sharp but her heart was soft. She was trying to have her own properties back.
She was trying to get her love back.
She was trying to get her role as Hamza's girlfriend back.
She was trying to get her dignity back.
She was trying to get her life back.
She was only trying to get what belongs to her in the first place back!!After two hours of weeping, she couldn't rest her mind and her thoughts were bringing more thoughts. The day was so awful already for her and then came the night to figure out the whole truth. She found her legs pulling her outside of her room and going straight to Farida's room.
She cracked open the door so unhurriedly as to not wake her up. She was sleeping there peacefully not knowing the battle that Nour was combatting moments ago. She tip-toed until she reached Farida's bed and then ascended it burying her whole body in Farida's. Farida sensed Nour's presence and asked while opening her eyes in fear. "Oh Allah, what's wrong, sweetheart? Are you hurt? What happened, my dear? Did you encounter a bad dream?"Nour nodded and she buried herself beside her aunt deeper. She felt Farida's palm patting her hair while reciting some verses of the Quran believing it could help her sleep. Nour suddenly asked Farida while still burying herself in Farida " Is it destined for everyone to find his soul mate at last? "
She meant Sarah by her question. She wanted to know that although what Sarah has been through, she had to find her ONE, other than Hamza. She was hoping Farida's answer soothe her regret towards Sarah. She wanted to hear that Hamza is not Sarah's and Nour could have Hamza for her not sharing him with anyone. She didn't want Sarah to live her life alone but she didn't want her to have Hamza either!
"Destined is a great word to use as if you put all your plan on Allah which actually means" Tawakul" as if you are just waiting for his signs to happen. However, some people survive alone. They don't have to be with someone to be complete. They are perfect on their own with no one interfering in their life. Maybe the presence of someone beside them will make them suffer more. Not every person has to have a soul mate, that's why Allah is here. He is the only one that can understand you when stutter, imagine he can feel you when your heart is aching." Nour sighed deeply after hearing her answer, feeling satisfied enough. Farida expected to hear an answer but she didn't so she started asking. " Do you have feelings for Hamza?" Farida's only concern was her niece. She wished nothing but for her niece to feel delighted and Nour's first question made Farida think about Hamza and refer to him. However, she was afraid of the consequences that would follow. She was afraid about how her family would react to such thing. Nour remained silent knowing that she never meant Hamza by her first question and she didn't feel to open up to her, especially now.
