||Chapter Eighteen || Missed up day & night
" We haven't met properly, so I think we should have a cup of coffee together. " Jeff said while handing Mariam her pen and was about to complete talking, but she snatched the pen and mouthed" I don't have time for this right now, please leave me alone. " while leaving him alone and taking forward steps to go anywhere else but here.
She felt his hand clench on her arm firmly preventing her from leaving and spun her to face him. Some of her hair landed on her face and she stared at him with terrifying glares what was that psycho gonna do with her?
His hand was still fixed to her and with threatened glares, he uttered "I insist!!" He pulled her behind him heading toward the cafeteria.
Their breaths were the only sound on their table without mentioning the background voices of the other students. She never dared to speak. She didn't know what to do. She even didn't look him in the eyes. She just fixed her eyes to the cup of coffee he ordered for her. He didn't even ask her how she wanted her coffee to be. As if he forced her and it was the way it looked like. He did nothing but force and she did nothing but obey!!
After minutes passed and none of them mumble a word. Jeff decided to start the conversation showing his boredom of being here with her rather than somewhere cooler. " So are you going to stay silent forever? Are you that bad at starting a conversation? "
He began showering her with questions begging for her to talk or do something until he gave up. " Fine, just tell me your name. I am trying to be nice. " And again nothing happened to mention but just her staring at the coffee and the small clouds that floated above the cup forgetting about his presence. He added later " At least drink your coffee. "
For an immediate result, he found her snatching the cup and gulped the first sip in thirst. She noticed his stupid smirk while taking a good look at his lips whispering a " Good girl ". She didn't want to be seen as a good puppy listening to every word he said but her head was spinning and she couldn't help but accepted the coffee. She didn't put anything to her mouth since the incident and she needed caffeine immediately to help her refilling her energy and call for her strength.
" What do you want from me? Leave me alone? " She asked impatiently after wiping her mouth with a tissue that she found in her pocket and couldn't wait for him to answer and continued her talk "I promised I won't say any shit about you. "
His smirk was shown after hearing her voice startling and he stretched his back and leaned to the chair confidently putting both hands at the back of his head tangling them together. " See, I thought we closed this page but you're opening it again. I told you I am trying to be nice in the first place. But here you're ruining our morning."
