||Chapter Five|| An Unexpected event!
Three days have passed while Nour is sinking into so many things such as studying by herself the next lessons as she doesn't have any number of her classmates to ask about what they have taken. She starts explaining to herself until she understands and if she doesn't, she will ask her teacher about it. It isn't that big deal. She is also practicing walking. She doesn't move too much these days to let her leg have it's faster healing.
Farida helps Nour in putting the ointment and helps her to move around but carefully with slow steps until she has her steady steps. That dull house has been finally untied and has been getting rid of the tension, worries or even frowns and were superseded with the joys, smiles, laughter and love.
Love! That word that whirls inside her mind. She feels the meaning and how it affects her with simple doings. The house is full of Love that has been lost for those past several years. She thinks that love won't be found in this family again and lost forever. Maybe her parents' departure is a beginning for a temporary happy life but as it is always said: no one lives happily forever. She doesn't care about what will happen, she cares most about her present and how to exploit every chance to get closer to her aunt Farida and to smile again.
She feels bad about what she is going through right now. These can't be her true feelings toward her parents. How does a daughter hope for her parents to go away? All her life is a mess. If only they would give her a chance to solve everything! Although she does not know what has she done to get everything more complicated!
She is going to the school today her leg has become better there is a slight limp but she manages to hide it confidently. She hurries toward the bathroom and takes her shower. After finishing her shower she rolls the towel around her body and heads outside the bathroom standing there in front of her cupboard, sliding the doors to reveal many colors and outfits belong to her, thinking about what she is going to wear until her gaze falls on one and then she picked it up and wears it. It is simple but unique.
She stares at herself in the mirror and decides to put slight makeup. A concealer to hide those black circles around her swollen eyes and a light pink lipstick then she grabs her bag and slides down to her aunt.
" I should leave now " Nour utters while wearing her shoes. She is going to be late. She hurriedly fitches an apple and leaves a kiss on her aunt's cheek.
" Allah with you " Farida states and Nour retorts with a smile then begins walking towards her school.
She didn't go to school for 3 days. She still asks herself so many questions and indulges in her mind deeply. She thinks about Mariam. She wonders if Mariam asked about her or not. No one will notice anything. Nour is the kind of girl who is so quiet and gets bullied because of her hijab and being Muslim.
