42: ᴀᴄᴛɪɴɢ

As October passed, Althea made sure to talk out her plans for breaking up with Leon at least once a day. 

Chan wanted to focus on that instead of his own birthday but between Althea, Camila, Lorraine and the rest of his members, he didn't really have much of a choice in the matter. Even Jermaine advised he enjoyed himself and the leader didn't have the heart, nor courage, to oppose the man. Although he didn't want to, he did enjoy the celebrations. The whole day was filmed on his phone along with the video calls from his family and friends. The prospect of getting to eventually show it off to STAY making his worries melt for once. But the best part was Althea agreeing to sneak off with him at the end to slow dance. 

One of the best birthdays he's had up to date to be honest.

After that, the way Althea planned the breakup to go was outlined clearly. She would invite Leon to meet up at Yamacraw Beach nearby. She figured since it's been so long since she last spoke to him that he wouldn't care the location was so close to her home. She'd have an escape should things get messy. 

She would park her car a few ways off from where she's actually meeting Leon and that's where the others come in. Lorraine, Chan, Changbin and Lucas would wait in the car while they spoke as backup. Her parents wanted to tag along but Althea is still not confident with her father possibly bearing witness to Leon's abusive acts. She's sure something would get broken in the aftermath of that so she had to beg them to stay behind and just trust her on this. Of course they were hesitant about that so Jermaine entrusted Lucas to act in his place. Althea's not sure if that's a better solution to the issue or not. 

In the case that something does happen, the others would intervene and get her out of there quickly. Though that should only be a last resort if Leon actually does try to anything. Which unfortunately given their past history is rather likely. 

Anyway, that's the official plan that everyone's aware of. However, Althea has something different in mind that only Changbin and Hyunjin know, and she's already sworn them to secrecy since they don't want to be involved. Every time they look ready to open their mouths she levels them with a bone-chilling stare that shuts them up. 

She's gone over it in her head just about a million times daily how the conversation would pan out and she winces as each trip to dreamland ends up with her rotting away in a shallow grave. Sure that's just her anxiety sending her down a slippery slope but she's had beatings worse than the time she was pushed down the stairs in Grade 10. She's backtracked on actually going through with her idea so many times that she wonders if it's even worth carrying out anymore. 

But...she doesn't want this to happen again. She wants him to be punished for once. 

If that weren't pressing enough, there's been an update on the COVID situation. 

"The Trump Administration has been working on a vaccine for COVID. It's expected to be FDA approved in the coming weeks and ready for dispatch by December 2020."

It really is easy to forget they're in a global pandemic with all that's going on. The news stated it should be ready in the next several weeks and dispatched globally by January 2021 if all goes well.

When they heard the news, the boys immediately went into a frenzy. Chan in particular had hoisted Jisung in the air and cried tears of happiness. They were so excited, and Althea knew that this was a good thing for them. They can finally verify a potential time of when they'll be able to return home to their normal lives. Chan's worries about not being there for STAY can finally be put to rest. Everything will go back to the way it was for them.
