"Okay the plan is this," he opens up a map of the area "It was said that Fredrick is right here," he pointed over to the forest that surrounds our fairly big town "Some rumours went around saying that if it's true, he'll be hiding in a tree to ambush whoever tries to find him. If it's true then we all need to keep our wits about us. We can't have anyone taken as a hostage or even killed. Am I clear?"

We all nodded, almost scared to say anything.

"We leave tonight. Because at night, we'll be a bit harder to see, though he will be too." he looked at us all.

"But won't he be wearing an orange jumpsuit from prison?" I asked.

"Possibly but there's also a chance he won't be. I wouldn't jump to conclusions about what he's wearing; just keep your eyes open at all times."

I nod in response.

"Anymore questions?"

"Yes. Should we worry about what we're wearing?" River asked.

"I would say no because we need to be made familiar with what we're all wearing now so we know who's on our side."

River nodded in response.

"Anymore questions?"

"Is there anyone else joining us?" Alex asked, their voice quite high pitch but with a concerning tone.

"I haven't had anymore calls so I would say not."

Alex sighed before nodding.

"Anymore questions?"

Everyone was silent.

"Meeting dismissed then."

It was coming up to 8pm. It's been a few hours since the meeting. There were barely any windows but where there was one, it was pitch black outside. I couldn't help but think how I'm going to kill Mr Jones after the pain he put me through.

I pushed the thought aside as I scrolled through pictures of Phoenix Claire had sent me whilst I was gone. I quickly sent her a message basically stating that I wouldn't be home because we're tracking him down tonight.

Before she could respond, Hank called us all to another meeting. I slip my phone back in the tight pocket and jog over to the table. Before getting to the table, I felt a vibration from the pocket I had placed my phone in.

"It's been a few hours and it has finally dropped dark. The time is," he looks down at his watch "8:03pm so I advise we head out soon. I suggest all belongings like phones are kept here in this box. The box with have a keypad on it so it cannot be accessed by anyone other than myself. So send any final messages or calls. I'll give you all five minutes. Dismissed."

We all split off from the table. I looked down at my phone to see the message that was sent to me. It was from Claire:

Phoenix has missed you all day. I told her "Mummy is out saving the world." good luck, kick his ass. Lots of love ❤️

I reminded Claire to put her to bed soon and I thanked her for the heartwarming message.

Soon enough it had been five minutes. I almost cried. I said my goodbyes to Claire and jogged back to the table. Everyone else was there and putting all their belongings, mostly phones, in the box. I was the last to do so. I finally put my phone in the box. Hank then closed the box and placed the keypad on.

"Everyone," he caught all our attention "In case I don't make it out alive, the code is 124816."

We all nodded and all proceeded out of the abandoned building.

It was 8:12pm by the time we left the building. There were no cars out and only the streetlights were giving us light. The bouncer wasn't in his usual spot.

"Okay. So we just need to walk for around ten minutes to get to that part of the forest." Hank whispered to us as he started leading the way. We all trailed behind him like lost puppies.

We were all given a knife and sword to defend ourselves. Little does Hank know, myself and River have powers; we can use the given blades and our powers to our advantage. That's if she thought the same way. We haven't spoken since we discovered we were both supernaturals. It doesn't seem like she wants to talk either which is fine. It gives me more time to think on how to kill the rapist.

I had a lot of time to think devious ways to kill Jones when we finally reach the part of the forest Hank pointed at on the map.

"To search more ground, we should split into groups of two. You can pick your partners, then I'll give you all walkie-talkies so we can still communicate. It's important to stay with your partner though as I don't have enough for each individual."

Well it was an easy pick for me; I went straight to River, there was Alex and Ivy, Hank and James. Hank then handed myself and Ivy a walkie-talkie. He kept the last one.

"We all need to enter the forest so when we do; Ruby and River, go left. Ivy and Alex, go right. I and James will continue straight. Whoever finds him will need to contact the rest of us and tell us which direction they went. Or who they are so we can determine the direction you went."

We all nodded in response before we all split off from each other with our partner.

I looked back as I watch everyone's silhouettes disappear into the darkness of the forest.

I looked forward and walked along with River. I was looking right and she was looking left. We also looked in the trees but had no luck.

I know it's bad, as it's only been a few hours, but I felt close to River; like we've known each other longer, I just feel so close with her. And every time I'm close to her, I feel shivers shoot up and down my spine. I don't understand why but maybe it's trying to tell me something.

"Hey, River?" I catch her attention.

"Yeah?" she responded, looking at me for a second before continuing to look around.

"I-"

"Help! Help! It's Alex, we found him!"
