Morning After

I woke up to the smell of bacon and eggs and groaned when my alarm went off.

I got up and started limping towards my closet.
I picked out my clothing and then hopped in the shower.

After I got out and changed, I went outside to the kitchen and saw Nancy cooking.

"Wow, I'm surprised the smoke alarm didn't go off, you know, like last time?"

She rolled her eyes and elbowed my side. "How's your ankle?" she asked. I shrugged and looked at my foot.

"Still hurts but I can walk, with a limp, but still."

She got out a few plates and served the food. "Can you wake up Steve and Will?"

I raised a brow.

"Where's mom?" I asked.
"The shop called her in early today so she's at work."

I nodded and limped to Will's room. I knocked on the door but no one answered so I opened it.

There was Will sprawled out on his bed like a starfish.

I walked to the edge of the bed and shook him. "Will? Get up, come on."

He just groaned as he pulled the blankets up higher. I took them off, hoping he'd get up, but he only curled up into a ball.

"Breakfast is already on the table. Come on dude wake up." I said but still, nothing.

"Fine, I guess I can't take you to Mike's later if you don't eat."

I turned to leave when a voice stopped me. "Fine, Fine, I'm up!"

'Finally.'

I walked to the guest room and opened the door. Expecting to see Steve asleep, I saw him reading a book listening to music.

"Oi, get up you pain in the ass, time for breakfast." I said, walked towards the bed, and kissed his cheek.
He looked up at me and smiled. I smiled back.
"Fine, I'll be out in a bit." He got up.

He grabbed my waist and pulled me closer to rest his head on my shoulder.

"So how's your ankle baby?" He asked and I told him the same thing.He frowned and pulled away.

"Tell Nancy I'll be right there." He said and I nodded. He pecked my lips and walked to the shower.

I just watched him lock the door. I've been always going over how wrong this is.

Just imagine we don't wake up in time and Nancy catches her brother cuddling up to her boyfriend.

'I have to tell her sooner than later. The longer I wait, the more trouble I'll be in.

'How about what to tell my mom, would she be angry? Disappointed?'

"So, does Nancy know you've been dating her boyfriend behind her back?"

I turned around and saw Will standing in the door frame. I knew he saw everything but my best solution was to play dumb.

'How hard can that be?'

"I'm not dating him idiot."

He rolled his eyes. "I saw you kiss him Jonathan, I'm not stupid."

"Please don't tell her Will." I yelled in more of a whisper. "Fine, but you're taking me to Mike's."

He said before he left, I sighed and threw my head back until it hit the wall.

'shit..'

After breakfast and taking Will to his little playdate, I called Nancy and asked her if she could run to the store.

She agreed and said she'd leave soon.

I smiled and hung up. 'Now what?'

I just stayed there sitting in silence until I heard a knock on the car window. I rolled the window down and saw Steve smiling at me.

"Hey, what are you doing out here, it's freezing!" I nodded. "I know I know, I just like sitting here. It's relaxing."

He frowned and opened the car door. "Come on Byers. Inside." He said and pulled me out.

He leaned down and kissed me. I kissed back of course.

As soon as he broke the kiss I let my head rest against his chest. He hugged me and kissed my hair.

"I wish we could stay like this forever." I said with a groan. He chuckled and let me go.
"Come on, my hands are freezing." I followed him inside and both of us were met with the smiling face of my sister.

"Guys! I have some news for you!!"
