When Danera arrived at dinner, almost everyone was there. She wasn't used grandeur, they kept things simple on Dragonstone. She sat down awkwardly between Helena and Aemond, as everyone else was speaking between themselves. She looked up just as Aegon walked in, he looked around the table, as if he purposefully did not want to look at her. However, the only seat left was directly in front, he stepped forward, sat down and immediately clicked at the servants for wine. The walked over filling the cup, and then moving round the table to fill everyone else's. "How was the journey here" asked Helena, smiling. "Long, tiring, I do not care much for boats, I would have much rather flown here" Danera explained, she felt comfortable with Helena. They were close as children, but had grown apart in their later teens. Helena was a year younger than Danera, Aemond a year older. Aegon was 20 and somehow not yet married, much to his mothers annoyance. Danera talked to Helena about her life on Dragonstone most of the evening. Feeling Aegons eyes on her every so often, each time looking at him, he looked away, talking to his grandfather Otto. At a break in Helena and Daneras conversation. Alicent stood up to make a speech. She looked directly towards Danera, making her blush "now you are a woman grown, we will find you a suitable husband, for now, we are so happy to have you home with us" Alicent spoke softly, smiling at Danera and raising her cup. "Thank you, my queen, it is an honour to be welcomed here" Danera looked back at her, smiling as genuinely as she could. Her mother and Alicent never got along from what her mother had told her. So it was hard to like a women she had been told all her lift was awful. Danera noticed Aegon staring at his cup, he had barley touched his third glass of wine, looking deep in thought. As the dinner went on, people slowly left the table. Danera finally felt she could leave without feeling ungrateful. She got up and made her way back to her chambers, walking in and flopping onto the bed, exhausted.

She awoke an hour or so later, to banging on her door. Confused, she got up and opened it, only for Aegon to fall at her feet, clearly drunk. "What do you want Aegon, this is not your room" she said in annoyance moving her feet away from him as he tried to grab at her. "I wanted to see you, obviously" he slurred, managing to sit himself up slowly. He leant against the wall by her door. Danera quickly closed the door, not wanting anyone to see or hear him in her room at this hour. "Aegon you can't be here, we are not children anymore, this is not appropriate" she said scoldingly. Trying to lift him up to push him out of the room. He made no effort to help her, and without that, she had no chance of moving him. She let him slump back into the wall and sat down on the nearest chair, wondering why he of all people was in her room. "Why of all people, would you want to see me, I am not a whore you can take to bed with you" she almost shouted at him, clearly frustrated with the situation. "I do not think you a whore" he said slowly, "I just wished to speak to you" he replied, he almost looked upset which confused Danera. She had never seen him show emotion. "You are drunk Aegon, and if we are caught..." she trailed off, thinking about the awful things that would be said about her if she was found with him, and the disappointment of her mother, thinking she had let Aegon of all people into her bedchamber. "We could be married" Aegon slurred, Danera looked at him, shocked and disgusted. "I would not marry you if you were the last lord in the kingdom" she scoffed. She moved again towards him, trying to get him up, and this time, he relented. He stood, close to her, he could smell lavender and vanilla in her hair. "But what if I can't stop thinking about you" he mumbled. Danera barely heard him, too busy focusing on getting the door open whilst also holding his weight. Sobering up slightly, he stood up, stumbling out the door. "Nothing changes" she exhaled before shutting the door in his face.

Aegon woke up the next morning with a blistering headache. This wasn't an uncommon occurrence for him, but he never got used to it. The usual medicine was next to his bedside, left by the maesters the night before. He reached over, not remembering how he got to bed the night before. As he sat up, he felt a sickening feeling, he remembered. After everyone had left dinner, he drowned himself in drink to try and stop his thoughts about Danera, her eyes, her long hair, her lips. However, on his way back to his chambers, he just wanted one look at her, he stumbled down the corridor, their rooms not far apart. Knocking on her door, he just wanted to speak to her, make friends, but of course, he'd fucked that up as well. He laid in his bed, angry at himself for ruining another thing in his life. He wanted to be better. The sight of her made him want to be better. He was tired of the drinking and the whoring, he wanted to be loved.

Danera woke up the next morning, she tried not to give much thought to the night before. She knew it was just Aegon being drunk, probably lost his way to some servant girls room, but one thing confused her. She remembered what he said, he couldn't stop thinking about her. She pushed it out of her mind, assuming he was too drunk to know what he was talking about. She jumped out of bed, determined to make the best of why she was here. A knock on the door pulled her out of her thoughts. A servant girl came in, she looked a similar age to Danera, with long black hair braided down her back. "Sorry for the intrusion my lady, I am Elena, I am your lady whilst here in the castle. Would you like me to help you dress?" Elena had a kind face, she looked young, but her demeanour was older, as if she knew too much for her age. "Yes...please" Danera said, awkwardly. She had only ever changed in front of Lina her lady at Dragonstone. However, Elena was so gentle and understanding, she did not feel awkward for long. "Do you have plans for the day my lady?" Elena asked as she helped her into her dress. "I would like to take a walk around the gardens" Danera replied. "Sounds wonderful, it is a beautiful day outside" Elena looked at her, "all done my lady, you will be expected at breakfast".

Danera walked into breakfast, luckily there was no sign of Aegon, in fact, there was no sign of anyone. "Sorry there are so few this morning, mother asked me to apologise, our father is unwell and needs tending to" Aemond explained moving towards the table and sitting down. "Aren't you hungry?" He spoke, looking at her when she didn't reply. She sat down, taking some bread for her plate. Aemond looked at her, "I, I never apologised" he said. "For what" she looked confused. "You tried to help me, that night and I pushed you away, we were friends and I shouldn't have treated you like that" he looked up, an apologetic look over his face. "It's in the past, we have all grown up" she smiled, "and you can finally take me out for a ride on Vhaegar". They looked at eachother, she was happy to have her friend back. As children, she never got along with her brothers. Jealous of her love she didn't receive from her mother. She was a forgotten second born, like Aemond, and from that their friendship was forged.
