Danera paced up and down each corridor to try and find her husband, she'd checked their chambers, the library, and most of Aegons usual hiding places around the castle. Her heart was racing, feeling awful that she hadn't just told her husband straight away.

She finally made her way to the garden, sitting down on a ledge out of breath from running around. Tears slipped down her face as she sniffled, craving her husbands warmth and comfort. There was one place she hadn't checked, she realised, making her way towards the dragon pit. It was a bit of a walk from the castle, but she hurried as quickly as she can could.

As she stepped into the vast space, she could hear whispers and sniffles, she knew instantly it was Aegon. Clinging to the wall, she tiptoed towards him, not wanting to scare him away from her again. Danera sat down, she could just about see his shadow underneath Sunfyre, his large body leaning against the dragon as it comforted its rider. The dragon laying with him, her scales sparkling in the dim firelight. Aegon felt she was the only one who he could talk to who wouldn't judge him, who he wouldn't upset with his feelings. He leant back against her, thinking for a second, then pulling his knees into his chest. "Fuck what have I done" he whispered, his face in his hands "I don't think I'm ready for this." Tears continued to stream down Daneras face, she'd failed him, ruined all their plans. Yes, it was a blessing to have an heir, but it wasn't what Aegon had wanted and she knew that. She couldn't listen to Aegons sobs much longer before she walked over to him timidly. "Aegon, please, I'm so sorry" she cried, staying at a distance hoping he wouldn't run away. He jumped at her presence, looking terrified at first, and then bowing his head. "My darling it is me that should be sorry, this is all my fault" he replied, not able to look at his wife. "It will be okay" she replied, trying to convince herself as much as him. "It's only your mother that knows, I could take the moon tea" she tried to solve the problem, she wasn't sure if it's what she wanted, but she also couldn't lose Aegon. Thoughts of him going back to his drinking and whoring ways flashed through her mind. The stress would lead him to drink, her body making him prefer his whores. Aegon looked up at her instantly "no" he almost shouted, making Danera flinch. "Please don't do that" he whimpered. He wasn't ready for a child, but he sure as hell wasn't putting her through the pain of forcing her to lose one. Standing up, he put his arms around her, "I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have run away, I'm just, so, scared" he spoke into her hair, finding her scent comforting. Danera nestled herself into his chest, "I'm not ready either, we don't have to do this if you can't, I'll understand" she replied, still crying. "You don't want that" he replied, "I know you don't." He lifted her chin up to look into her eyes, a weak smile on his face. "A baby us" he spoke, the smile turning genuine, almost into a grin as his wife smiled back at him. "Yes, a baby us" Danera sniffed and smiled through her tears.

They walked hand in hand back to the red keep, they didn't speak, both calming down and taking in their own news. When they finally returned to their chambers, Aegon helped his wife to undress, kissing her gently in between each layer of clothing he took off. He pulled the nightdress over her head, and guided her into bed, seeing how exhausted she was. "I'm sorry I didn't say anything earlier" she spoke, looking at her husband with her big worried eyes. "It's okay, I wouldn't have known how to tell me either, you didn't exactly end up with the best husband for this kind of thing" he replied, smiling at her. Every day that went by he appreciated how beautiful she was, how lucky and grateful he was to have his Danera in his bed every night and every morning. Danera smiled back at him, "you will be a good father" she whispered. Aegon looked away, pretending to be folding his trousers as tears threatened his eyes again. He was desperate to be good for her, but he'd never had a decent example of parenting in his life. His father had been unwell for as long as he'd known, and had barely interacted with him let alone loved him. His mother was cold, harsh, always reminding him of the disappointment he was. Aegon wanted to be there for his son, or daughter, to teach them high valerian and how to hold a sword. Part of him thought about having a whole army of children. Coming down to breakfast to his perfect wife, their children sitting around waiting for him. "Husband?" He heard a little voice draw him out of his thoughts. He looked round, getting into bed and taking her in his arms. "We will be okay, won't we?" He said, barely audibly, "of course we will" his wife looked into his eyes and smiled at him before they both tried to get some sleep.

The next morning, came far too quickly. Danera woke up and turned to her side, feeling groggy. Her stomach dropped when she noticed she was alone. Panic filling her when she looked around the room for her husband. "Aegon?" She exhaled, before he walked in through the door with a tray. He popped in down instantly when he saw her face. "Hey hey what's happened" he sat beside her, caressing her face trying to wipe away violent tears. "I...I thought you'd...left" Danera stuttered. Aegon felt sick, what had he done to his poor wife. He pulled her into his chest, feeling her shake with anxiety, kissing her hair and stroking towards calmness. "I didn't mean to, I just wanted to get you breakfast before you woke" he spoke into her lavender scented locks. "Sorry I'm being pathetic" she sniffed, feeling a bit embarrassed. "Don't be ridiculous, you have every right to be worried after how I acted last night, I should've been there for you, I will be there for you, it's you and me, right?" He smiled at her, putting his finger under her chin to draw her violet eyes to his own. "You and me" she whispered back, kissing him. Aegon continued to look at his wife for a moment after the kiss, he could still see the worry he had caused floating in her eyes. The immense guilt only made him even more determined to look after her. "I wasn't sure what you'd like, so I brought you a bit of everything" he said standing up, bringing the silver tray to her lap. Danera grinned at him in appreciation, every moment with Aegon made her heart grow with happiness.
