Amaya and the marauders are still good friends. She wasn't always around them since she still had tons of friends.

"Hey Amaya." Amaya turned to see Lily and Snape.

"Hey how are you guys?"

"We're good." Lily said.

"Come on, why do you guys hang around Snivellus?" James appeared behind them.

"James, don't be rude." Lily glared at him.

"He's just asking." Sirius now jumped into the conversation. "It doesn't make sense that anyone would hang around with that slimy-"

Amaya cut him off angrily, "Sirius! You better leave Snape alone. If I find out that you've been bullying him, then you'll have to deal with me."

"Why? Do you fancy him?" A look of jealousy flashed across his face but was gone quickly.

"No, but he is my friend."

"Whatever." Sirius muttered and walked away followed by James.

"Thanks." Snape said and walked away.

"Sometimes I don't get them. One minute they're bearable to be around and the next they are horrible bullies." Lily said, watching James and Sirius walk away.

"James is just jealous. You know he likes you." Lily blushed.

"Doesn't matter." She walked away leaving Amaya alone.

Sirius sat with his friends during lunch for the last time before Christmas break. Dumbledore stood up and cleared his throat. Everyone turned their attention to him.

"I hope you have all been enjoying your last day before Christmas break. For all of the 5th, 6th, and 7th years there will be a ball. This ball will be in hopes that you will all take a break from all of the endless studying for your O.W.L.s, N.E.W.T.s and other exams." Instantly everyone began discussing the ball. The girls squealed in excitement.

"Do any of you know who you're going to ask?" James asked.

"Nope." Remus said, looking around at all of the girls.

"I have no one. Maybe Remus and I will just go alone." Peter said.

"I think I might know, but you'll just have to wait and see." Sirius said, glancing at the Slytherin table.

"Well I'm gonna ask Lily." James looked at the redhead and smiled. She was laughing with her friend Marlene. Turning back to Sirius he asked, "Do you want to come to my place for Christmas?"

Sirius looked shocked before answering, "Yes, that would be nice. I'll write to my parents to let them know." James smiled and finished eating.

Sirius looked at Amaya and saw she was talking to Regulus. 'What did he want?'

After lunch he found Amaya to talk to. "Hey Maya!"

Amaya turned around and her smile lit up a bit more when she saw him. Everytime she smiled at him he would lose his breath. "Yeah?"

"I wanted to ask you something." There seemed to be a look of hope on Amaya's face as her smile got bigger.

"What is it?"

"I was wondering what my brother wanted from you. I saw you two talking." Amaya's smile slipped for a bit, but was back just as fast as she lost it. It wasn't as big though.

"Oh he was just telling me about some of your family's Christmas traditions." Sirius relaxed instantly.

"Oh ok."

"Was that all?" Amaya seemed like she wanted something else from him.

"Is there something else you wanted me to ask?"

"What? I-umm-no."

"Okay. See you later." Sirius walked away from a disappointed Amaya. 1

Sirius began to search the train for his friends. He was walking past a compartment when he heard Amaya's voice.

"Hey Reg, what's up?" Sirius stopped dead in his tracks and peeked through the window on the door.

"Would you like to go to the ball with me?" Sirius' heart stopped. He rushed away and found James.
