Chapter 94

May 31st
Central Park

Later that month, Tony & Kristina are visiting Genevieve & Javier's home so they can hang out & get to know baby Thomas, who has now turned two months old. Genevieve has a whole girl's day planned for her & Sophia so Tony decides to take a walk with Kristina through Central Park while Javier bonds with the baby. As they stroll through the park, Tony tells Kristina about his latest dream about their supposed "third baby." He rambles on for a bit longer until Kristina kisses him but they're interrupted by someone calling his name. They turn their heads to see a man dressed in a cape stepping out of an opened portal.
"I'm Dr. Stephen Strange. I need you to come with me."
"I'm sorry, you giving out tickets to something?"
"We need your help. It's not overselling it to say that the fate of the universe is at stake."
"And who's we?" Bruce steps out from the portal.
"Hey Tony."
"Bruce."
"Kristina."
"Hey, Banner", Kristina says with a smile. He walks up to them & hugs Tony first. Kristina kisses his cheek & hugs him tightly.
"Congrats on your pregnancy."
"Thank you", she says as they pull apart.
"Spitfire.."
"You have to go, Tony. Just be safe."
"I will. I love you."
"I love you too. You come back to us, you hear me?"
"Always." They quickly kiss & the men enter the portal then disappear. Kristina exhales harshly running her hands over her hair.
"Shit's never going to end, is it?", she whispers to herself. She makes the journey back to Genevieve & Javier's townhouse.

At Dr. Strange's home, his assistant Wong explains the infinity stones to Tony & Bruce. Bruce begs Tony to call Steve & ask for his help. Tony pulls out the phone that Steve sent him is about to call him when a rumbling is heard in the distance.
Kristina makes it back to Genevieve's house & sees Sophia getting ready to go. Not too long after, screaming & herds of people go running past the house.
"What the hell is going on out there?", Genevieve asks. Genevieve & Kristina look out the window.
"Javi, Vieve pack your bags. Now! You're coming with us", Kristina says. Genevieve & Javier rush up the stairs to their bedroom. Sophia begins to cry.
"Mommy, I'm scared." Kristina holds her.
"Sshhh. It's ok, baby. Everything's going to be ok."
"I want daddy." Kristina rocks her in her arms.
"I do too." Kristina keeps rocking her until she calms down.

Meanwhile.....Tony, Bruce, Wong & Dr. Strange rush out of Dr. Strange's home. People are fleeing & screaming when a spaceship appears in the sky. Ebony Maw & his enforcer stands several feet in front of the four men. Declaring that they will all die at the hands of Thanos. Bruce tries to morph into Hulk but is having a hard time.
"Dude, you're embarrassing me in front of the wizards."
"Tony, I'm sorry. Either I can't or he won't", Bruce states. Tony taps the arc reactor on his chest & immediately his suit forms over his body. A fight ensues & Dr. Strange tosses Banner through a portal. Peter Parker joins the fight, saving Tony from getting crushed. Strange gets carried to the spaceship with Peter trailing behind. Tony follows. Peter begins to lose his breath & Tony sends a suit flying up to Peter as Peter falls off the spaceship.
"Boss, incoming call from Mrs. Stark", F.R.I.D.A.Y says. The call in accepted & a panicked Kristina can be heard.
"Tony? Oh my god. Are you alright? What's going on?"
"Yeah, I'm fine. I just think we need to push our 8:30 res."
"Why?"
"Just cause I'll probably not make it back for a while."
"Tell me you're not on that ship", she says concerned.
"Yeah."
"God, no, please tell me you're not on that ship."
"Honey, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I don't know what to say."
"Come back here, Tony. I swear to God. Come back right now, Sophia is asking for you."
"Boss, we're losing her. I'm going too", F.R.I.D.A.Y says. They've reached very high altitude which cuts off any signal for contact Tony has. Peter climbs onto the spaceship. Kristina, Sophia, Genevieve & Javier make it back to the compound safe. The compound is eerily quiet & dark.
"Take Sophia to her room, I'm gonna try & get ahold of my dad."
"Let's go Sophia", Javier says.
"But mommy..."
"I'll be upstairs in a few minutes, ok? I promise." Kristina pulls out her phone & calls Tony but to no avail. She calls three more times, panic setting in more & more the longer she doesn't hear from him. She dials her dad's number. He picks up immediately.
"Please tell me you're alright."
"I am, dad." She breaks down.
"Have you heard from Tony yet?"
"No. I'm scared. I don't know what I'll do if...if he..."
"You can't think like that. I'm so sorry I can't be there with you & Sophia. How is she?"
