Shae and Iris woke up, sprawled across the floor of the cockpit. Captain Westfall woke as well, his head against the dashboard. "Ow." Shae said as she sat up, rubbing the back of her head. Iris rubbed her eyes. "What happened?"
"We crashed," Captain Westfall said, groggily.
"What? You mean we're alive?" Iris asked.
"Yes."
"B...but what about the black hole?"
"Don't know. But we survived and that's all that matters."
"Come on," Iris said, getting up. "Let's go see what's outside!"
They followed her outside and when they emerged from the ship, they saw something they'd never have expected to see. They were on an entirely different planet, nothing like form the Galaxy of Candara. It was bright, with a cloudless sky and bright green grass, and tall, snow-capped mountains. It was beautiful. "Woah," Iris said. "Are we in heaven?"
"No," Westfall said. "We're in another galaxy."
They looked at each other and grinned. Commander Evans was wrong, they did survive after all.
"Greetings," a spirit-like voice said from behind them.
They spun around, to find themselves standing face-to-face with a young woman, who had a strange glow about her -literally. She was almost surrounded with a bright, luminous glow, and she was wearing bright white, flowing crop-top that seemed almost brighter that her pale skin, showing off her lean abdominals. She was also wearing grey leggings that went down just past her knees, with a really short blue and purple skirt over top. She also wore gold and silver sandals that snaked half way up her shins. She had long brown hair, that was tied into a side-braid that went down to elbow. She also wore a golden fillet circlet with a single emerald gemstone in the centre. She also had icy blue eyes.
"Who are you?" Westfall asked, mesmerized.
"I am Dovaa. Dovaa Kaaoh."
"Hello," Shae said, "My name is Shae and this is Iris."She gestured to her friend.
"Hey," Iris responded. "Oh, and this is Captain Westfall." He was staring at Dovaa, his eyes dazed. Iris nuged him with her elbow, and he snapped out of his trance. Iris rolled her eyes with a slight smile.
"Where are we?"Shae asked."And why are we here?" Iris added.
"We are on the planet Asconia. The planet of angels."
"Angels?" Iris echoed. "But you have no wings."
"Yes, I do." suddenly, large, white fathered wings with blue tips appeared on her back, and they were so bright that they almost blinded them.
"Holy crap," Shae breathed.
"As for why you came here," Dovaa continued, "I do not know. If you seek more information, you must see my father."
"Your father?" Westfall echoed.
"Yes. He rules this realm. And he stays up there," She pointed to a tall, sleek building in the centre of everything. It looked like it was a temple or monestary, made of steel, with no windows, and a large plateau on the right side that's surrounded by tall rocks.
"Thanks," Shae said.
"You're welcome. Do you wish to speak to him now?"
They exchanged glances. "Um, Sure," Captain Westfall replied.
"Then I shall show you the way. There is a secret way to enter. Follow me, and stay close."
Iris and Shae exchanges uneasy glances, not sure if they should trust her, even if she was an angel.
"We'll be fine," Westfall said, noticing their uneasiness, "As long as we stick together."
They followed Dovaa away from their starship, and towards the mountains.
They reached the mountains quickly, and they followed the path that was carved through the rocky cliffs, and that led upwards, towards the sky.
"So, uh.. Dovaa, what are you exactly?" Shae asked, curious.
" As I told you before, we are angles. We are the ones who guard the power, we were there at the beginning, the middle, and the end, of course."
"Of course," Shae muttered, rolling her eyes.
They were half way up the mountain, until suddenly an avalanche of rocks came out of nowhere and almost fell on top of them, until Captain Westfall shoved Dovaa out of the way, and lunging forwards, covering his head with his arms. Shae and Iris managed to dodge the rocks as well, but barely. They rocks split the path they were walking on, which sent Iris and Shae tumbling down the side of the mountain. Iris landed hard on her side on a ledge, but Shae only just grabbed on, dangling of the side of the edge.
When Iris recovered, and noticed that Shae was struggling to hold on the the edge, she rushed over and helped pull her friend up.
"Thanks," Shae said.
"No problem."
"Where's Captain Westfall? OR Dovaa?"
"Don't know. We got separated, I guess."
"So much for sticking together," Shae said.
