Iris and Shae looked around them frantically, searching for the voice, but they couldn't see anyone.
Then they heard it again. "Iris! Shae! Up here!"
They both tilted their heads upwards to see we're the voice was coming from.
They could just faintly see what looked like a man waving, and he was standing on a balcony about halfway up the building.
Iris and Shae were both thinking the same thing- Westfall.
Iris waved back, hoping he could see them.
Then, suddenly, two winged men wearing shiny blue armour and helmets swooped down off of the balcony, straight towards them.
The men trimmed their wings tightly, and began spiralling down towards them.
Iris thought about jumping off the mountain, but the men would catch we anyways. And she knew Shae couldn't follow her. The men were fast, and were almost on top of them now, and Iris and Shae ducked, their hands covering thee heads as they waited to be attacked. But the attack never came. all that happened was a gust of wind d from behind them that almost knocked Shae off her feet that came from the men opening their wings to hover behind them.
One man grabbed hold of Shae's arm, not even noticing the sensitive hash on her arm.
Shae yelped as the man lefties her off the ground.
Iris looked behind her to see the other man's hands grabbing her arms, then taking off from the mountain top, up towards the building where they came from.
The men flew so fast that Shae and Iris could barely see anything- the wind was whipping hard at their faces, the rest of their body dangling behind them.
The two guards stopped flying and hovered for a moment slightly above the balcony, then let go of their arms, letting Shae and Iris fall. The ground came hard and fast.
Shae was dropped slightly ahead of Iris, so when Iris fell she fell right on top of Shae, who collapsed to the ground under Iris's weight.
They tripped over eachother, tumbling to the ground and landing in a heap.
"Yes!" A voice shouted, and suddenly a man helped Iris and Shae untangle themselves and stand up again.
"Captain!" Shae and Iris cried simultaneously, both running to hug Westfall.
"What happened to you guys?" He asked.
Iris and Shae released him from their hug.
"We went back to where our ship crashed," Iris started.
"But then it wasn't there," Shae said. " then we met some creepy demon guy with red eyes and dragon wings who wouldn't tell us his name. then I got struck by lightning and we found shelter in a cave." She paused, letting the information sink in.
"Then we came and found you," Iris concluded.
"Wait, you got struck by lightning?" Westfall asked, looking at Shae. "And you climbed all the way up here?"
"With Iris's help," she replied humbly.
"How did you get up here?" Iris asked westfall.
"I climbed. then I met some old guy who I think might be Dovaa's father. Then his guards locked me in a cell and I had a vision of captain Evans that turned into a dragon-man. he actually fits the description of the demon guy with red eyes that you met."
Iris and Shae exchanged glances.
"Oh by the way, those guys that dropped you on to the balcony were guards. they did the same thing to me."
"They dropped you?"
"Yeah."
Then Shae noticed Westfall's hand.
"Holy shit!" she exclaimed, her hand over her mouth. "what happened to your hand?!" She grabbed Westfall's arm wrist with her other hand.
Westfall pulled his hand back. "it got disintegrated."
"What? How?"
"Dovaa's father. All I did was touch his shoulder!"
"What? Why would he do that to you?" Iris demanded.
"Don't know. but he seemed to think that I knew him, somehow."
"Ah," a voice said from behind them, "I see you've been reunited with your friends."
An older man walked towards them.
"That's him," Westfall whispered to them, then turned to face the man.
"Why won't you tell us who you are?" He demanded.
"Well, now I suppose I can tell you. I am Semilar Fastill, and I rule this realm. You may also know me as Dovaa's father."
