Dovaa and Sek'loniir had been fighting for hours.
After their (extremely advanced) unarmed combat came to a draw, they switched to more supernatural combat tactics.
Sek'loniir aimed his hand at Dovaa and instantly tangles of red electrical energy discharged from his fingertips.
Dovaa reacted quickly putting her hands out infront of her in the form of a triangle, blocking his strings of lightning with her own transparent forcefield, and the electricity bounced right off.
Sek'loniir continued his attacks in short bursts while alternating hands, trying to overpower his sister with speed. He started to get cocky, and shot a bundle of electricity at her with both hands.
Using this to her advantage, Dovaa caught his lighting in her shield, twisted it around in her hands and threw it back at him.
She held her hand up, causing Sek'loniir to be held in the air, his limbs bound to his sides, unable to move. "Argh..." He growled.
Dovaa took a step towards him, and as soon as she did, Sek'loniir broke free of her hold on him and extended his hand far enough to zap her with a strand of electricity.
The impact knocked Dovaa off of her feet, and her hold on Sek'loniir was released.
He floated to the ground as Dovaa tumbled backwards.
She kneeled, and looked up at her brother, the sound of electricity still cackling as it faded away.
"You don't have to do this!" She said with desperation, and slight exhaustion.
"Then stand aside!" Sek'loniir yelled at her, a hint of emotion sneaking into his voice.
He curled his upper lip as he shot her with the strongest bolt of lightning he had.
Dovaa couldn't react fast enough, and the electricity latched on to her, crawling through her spine, skull and limbs. She felt powerless.
When the electricity stopped, she fell to her knees. Gasping for air, she tried to stand up. "I can't... I won't!"
She summoned all of her strength, and with extreme determination she roared and transformed herself into her griffin form.
She charged at Sek'loniir, and knocked him off his feet, using her beak to throw him across the room.
Sek'loniir landed on the ground hard, but he was so angry that he shook it off like it was nothing.
He threw his arms out to the side and they turned into wings. He roared, and with a thrust of his chest he threw himself into his gargoyle from.
The two beasts charged at each other. Dovaa planned to shove into him, but Sek'loniir outsmarted her and swooped upwards, grabbing Dovva by the ears with his talons. With immense strength, he launched her across the room. She landed twice as hard, and the impact knocked her out of her Griffin, returning her to her natural form. She lay immobile on the ground, and Sek'loniir roared, and approached her, about to attack when Dovaa's eyes snapped open and she threw her brother across the room with a wave of her hand.
When he landed he was also knocked out of his beastly form, and into his dark self.
Ready to face her brother (this time with out letting her emotions get in the way), she walked towards him as he shook his head to clear the dizziness and stood up to face her.
He struck first, with a tangle of lightning from his fingertips. His sister blocked it easily, using both of her hands to conjure her shield.
Sek'loniir matched her and brought his second hand to double the force of his lightning.
They pushed at each other, harder and harder, until they were so close to each other that they could look at the other's face and see every detail.
They locked eyes, Sek'loniir's hatred against Dovaa's more passive, slightly agressive eyes.
The power was so intense that they were close to breaking themselves.
"STOP THIS!" Semilar's voice boomed from the window above them.
With a wave of his hand, Semilar knocked both of his children out of their fighting state and sent them crashing through the glass window that was above Westfall's fight with Shae.
They fell to the ground below them, interrupting Iris, Westfall and Shae, who jumped out of the way as soon as they saw the siblings smash through the window. The shattered glass from the large window lay scattered across the floor. Semilar stood on the platform on which Shae had first been sitting.
Sek'loniir was the first to get up, glaring at his father.
"So glad you could make it to our little party, father!" He said harshly, sarcasm rippling through his words.
He walked towards him, and when he was close enough he launched a strand of electricity at Semilar.
Semilar blocked his electricity with the same transparent forcefield that Dovaa had used.
"You will stop this!" Semilar ordered his son.
Sek'loniir only laughed. "You are too weak for me, old man!" He pushed his energy closer, and brought his other hand up to add another burst of red lightning. "You mean nothing to me anymore!" Semilar's feet started to slide as Sek'loniir advanced. Semilar tried to hold his shield but it was useless.
Semilar's shield broke under the power of Sek'loniir, and Semilar fell to his knees.
Sek'loniir stood directly above him, and he held his hands infront of him and conjured a large bolt of lightning.
Semilar was now defenseless, and Sek'loniir's tangles of electricity rained down on him, weakening him.
Behind them, the three humans watched the scene unfold.
Iris suddenly remembered the sword.
"Captain, now!" She pulled out the sword and threw it to Westfall, who was a fair distance away from her.
Seizing the opportunity, Shae snapped to attention, ran at full speed and jumped up to intercept the pass. The caught the sword and flipped onto the platform, kneeling behind Sek'loniir. She looked over her shoulder at Iris and Westfall, smirking as she held the sword out mockingly.
Westfall glared at her.
Sek'loniir stopped electrocuting his father and turned to look at Shae.
She stood up, looking at Sek'loniir who was at least a good three feet taller than her.
Semilar looked past Semilar and spoke to Dovaa, who was standing with help form Iris.
"You... Showed them the sword?"
"I'm sorry, father," she replied, "I didn't know how else to stop him!"
Sek'loniir spoke up, "Give it to me, child." He said to Shae, his voice smooth and almost gentle.
Shae looked behind her at Westfall.
"Shae, no!" He warned.
Shae hesitated for a moment, but then she straightened her shoulders and looked faithfully into Sek'loniir's eyes.
She handed him the sword and he took it from her.
"Thank you," he said, waving the sword in the air, "your usefulness has come to an end."
He pressed is finger against Shae's forehead, and she immediately fell to the ground, unconscious.
"NOOOO!" Westfall shouted, and ran towards Sek'loniir.
But he waved him off and sent him flying backwards.
Sek'loniir turned his attention back to Semilar. "The humans have brought me the sword, and you have brought yourself. Now, father-" he raised the sword above his head- "you will die!"
"Father!" Dovaa cried, pulling away from Iris and ran towards Semilar.
Sek'loniir brought the sword down, but Dovaa leaped infront of it.
The sword pierced Dovaa's chest, and she gasped.
Realizing what he had done, Sek'loniir let go of the sword and looked at his hands, his face contorted in agony.
"No..No...What." he stuttered, "WHY!!!???" He screamed at the dark sky. Westfall hadn't even noticed that there wasn't a roof. Sek'loniir shot into the air, turning into a gargoyle, and flew into the night.
