Iris sighed as she walked across the rocky landscape. "How am I supposed to even find Semilar?" She said to herself, seeing no giant towers or monasteries anywhere.
She kept walking, then stopped abruptly as she realized she was about to fall into a massive hole.
She knelt down and peered down the hole. While the hole was dark on the outside, there was a large amount of light coming from the bottom.
She could hear voices.- - - -
"You are growing stronger, my son."
Semilar said.
Semilar was sitting on a humble throne made of stone, Dovaa kneeling next to him, meditating. Sek'loniir stood next to him, refusing to sit.
"Am I, father?" He asked in vain.
"Your ego, however, is getting the better of you." Semilar added.
"How so?" Sek'loniir asked, somewhat defensively.
"You have done what is forbidden," Semilar told him, rising to his feet. Dovaa rose as well, but he raised his hand, and she reluctantly knelt back down.
Semilar and Sek'loniir walked towards the opening of the hole, where Iris was eavesdropping.
"You have chosen the darkness and allowed it to feed your anger, and desire for power."
"By bringing the ones back here you have shown me my potential! You have only yourself to blame!" Sek'loniir spat at his father.
"Do not do this, son." Semilar said, dismissively. "Do not become what you should not."
Sek'loniir hated his father's simple view of him.
"Be strong, please!" Semilar insisted.
"Or else, I will be forced to contain you." He threatened.
This made Sek'loniir furious.
"You look frail father." Sek'loniir said, hatred seething through his voice.
"I am not dead yet," Semilar replied.
"Well..." Sek'loniir began, rising up against his father. "Perhaps I am TIRED OF WAITING !" Sek'loniir screamed, and before Semilar could react he performed a spinning kick that knocked him to the ground. "I HATE YOU!!" He pounded and pounded with all his strength, beating Semilar relentlessly. Letting out a roar he turned into his gargoyle form. He grabbed Semilar by the neck and shot up through the hole, not noticing Iris, who was leaning so close to the hole that she got knocked back by the force of energy.
Sek'loniir tossed Semilar into the air, and then punched him down to the hard ground. When Semilar landed Iris could hear the sickening crack of his bones.
Sek'loniir did a flip in the air, then roared, swooping down right above her head and flying off into the distance.
Iris rushed over to Semilar.
Sek'loniir had thrown him so hard that he almost cracked through the ground. "Oh god...." Iris muttered. She felt for a pulse. Nothing.
"Father!" Dovaa exclaimed as she burst out of the hole and rushed over.
She knelt down next to him. Dovaa held Semilar in her arms, tears welling up in her eyes. Dovaa stood up and jumped down the hole with Semilar in her arms.
Iris followed reluctantly, not sure of how deep the hole was.
But when she saw Dovaa land she jumped down after.
Dovaa carried Semilar over to a throne and lay him down infront of it.
She sat down next to him and Iris did the same.
Dovaa closed her eyes and held her hands over Semilar's cold body.
Her light shined over him, and she held that position for a few minutes, with Iris sitting silently across from her. Finally, she stopped and put her hands down.
"We will leave him to rest," Dovaa said to Iris.
"But I need to talk to him," Iris insisted.
"Not until he's stronger." Dovaa said.
"But your brother is losing himself! He's taken out friend."
"Then he must have his reasons."
"The same reason he had for murdering your father?" Iris said accusingly.
"He would never do that," Dovaa said defensively.
"But I saw him," Iris insisted.
"He cannot help it," Dovaa told her, "my nature is to do what is selfless. But my brother's will always be to do what is selfish."
"Then why aren't you helping us?" Iris was trying to keep her cool.
"I cannot interfere with this experiment," Dovaa said, standing up. "My father forbids it."
Iris tried to ignore the fact that she just referred to their suffering as an experiment. Instead, she said, "Your brother will leave Asconia and wreak havoc on the universe! You and Westfall combined have the power to stop him."
Dovaa thought about what Iris had just said. She sighed softly. "Come with me."
