Will byers rushed into the room. He was a short boy wearing a button up and a loose yellow tie with grey trousers.

"Yes mr hargrove?" He said, pushing up his comically thick glasses. He pushed his long shaggy brown hair out of his eyes and smiled.

"Any new stories about that spiderman kid?" Mr hargrove asked rolling his eyes. "I dont understand why the kids so popular. Hes a menace to society!"

"Well mr hargrove i do have a new story actually, we have interwied a lady who was saved by spiderman after being pushed off a building by that villain green goblin? I believe thats what she said." Will said handing mr hargrove the papers.

Mr hargrove smiled. He stood up and patted Will on the back. "You were always my favourite byers. Oh and have you seen my sister? Shes late."

"Max is at my house getting ready for her date with el?" Will said. "She said that you were not meeting up anymore?"

Mr hargrove rolled his eyes. "That little liar! Whatever byers. Youre free to go. AND TELL WHEELER IM STILL WAITING ON THAT REPORT!"

Will walked out of the room and called back "will do boss!"

When will arrived back to his office he saw his co worker mike making a cup of coffee. Will smiled as he looked at mike, with his curly raven hair and his freckles that looked like stars. Mikes eyes met his. They were a warm chocolate colour and his smile made Will's heart melt.

"Hey will! Howd the meeting go?"
Mike asked .

" good, im still confused as to why mr hargrove hates spiderman so much. Hes literally the reason the paper does so well!"

Mike laughed. He sat down at his desk and drank his coffee.

"Mike your 16. Stop drinking so much coffee, youre gonna have a heart attack." Will rolled his eyes.

"And you need to learn how to live a little byers! Besides, i need all the energy i can get. Spidermans not easy to keep up with!"

Will smiled. If only mike knew.

"Sounds like someones got a crush on our freindly neighbourhood superhero?" He said.

Mikes cheeks turned red. "No! Im just a fan. And its my job to find out about him!"

Will laughed. "Mhmm. What about that i heart spiderman badge you have?"

Mike playfully shoved wills arm and went back to his work.

Will sat down and continued sorting through pictures of spider man that he had. He grimaced as he looked at a really cringy one and shook his head as he looked at some of his failures.

Mike looked up and saw the faces Will was making.
"Whats with the expression dude?"

Will looked at mike.

"Nothing, i can see why boss hates spiderman so much now."

Mike looked shocked. "Are you telling me you hate my idol?"

"No! But i mean, we have police officers who can do this. Sometimes i just think he breaks more than he fixes."

"BUT HES SAVED COUNTLESS LIVES!" mike looked offended.

Will smiled. He knew mike would always defend spiderman. That's what scared him.

"Youre right. Hes new at this, maybe i just need some time to train." He said.

"What do you mean you need time to train?" Mike asked

"I- I meant HE! Yea.. i was gonna say maybe i need time to warm up to him and then changed my sentence mid way to he needs some time to train! You know me, messing up my sentences is common!" Will internally facepalmed.

Mike laughed. He shook his head, said okay and got back to work.

"Mike our shifts over time to go home." Will looked at the clock.

Mike stood up. "Finally! I need boba. Wanna come with me?"

Will blushed slightly. "Sure why not?"

The two walked out of the buliding.

"So, william~" mike began

Will cringed. He hated when people said his full name.

"What mike?" He said

Mike giggled. "I have a question about spiderman"

Will sighed. "When do you not? Go on then what is it?"

"You always seem to have the best gossip on him, so do you know if hes dating anyone?" Mike asked

Will laughed. "As if. The man can dream."

"How do you know that?" Mike asked.

"I asked him. Ran into him once on a rooftop. He makes some good puns though" will said

"Pause. YOUVE HAD A CONVERSATION WITH SPIDERMAN?" Mike yelled.

"Oh keep your voice down. All he does is make hilarious quips."

"I cant believe you met spiderman!"
Mike whined.

Will sighed. "Look, i wasnt going to tell you this until your birthday but-"

"What is it? Oh dont leave me in suspense will my birthdays in two days just tell me nowww!"

Will laughed. "Look we are at the boba shop! Lets get boba!" Will grabbed mikes hand and rushed inside.

The two ordered their boba and food and sat down at a table.

Mike was fidgeting and looked like he was about to burst.

"You okay mike?"

"OH JUST TELL ME PLEASEE!" mike whined desperately.

"Fineee," will said. "Look, im out of town on your birthday.

Mikes face dropped. "Will! I thought we were spending the day together!"

Will smiled. " i know im sorry! It was last minute, aunt mays out of town and she wants me to come! I tried to tell her but she said it was really important!"

Mike smiled sadly. "Its okay will, i know how important your aunt is to you, it wont be the same without you though..."

Will smiled even brighter. " i know, and i knew the only way i was going to forgive myself was getting you the best birthday present ever!"

Mikes face lit up, " omg what is it?!"

Will whispered " i asked spiderman if he would mind spending the day with you instead of me and he said he would! You get to spend a day with your idol!"

Mike took a deep breath in.

"You good mike?"

"Must.. not scream." Mike said.

The boys boba and food arrived and as they left the shop mike scream his lungs out and picked up will. He span his around and gave him the biggest hug ever.

"Oh my god- mike!" Will giggled.

"THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU SO MUCH WILL YOURE THE BEST FRIEND IN THE WORLD!"

Mike set will down on the ground again. Will smiled.

"Its not a big deal mike. Its what best friends do!"

"Not- not- NOT A BIG DEAL? WILL ITS THE BIGGEST DEAL IN THE WORLD!" Mike cupped wills face with his hands. "You are so amazing will you always manage to do the craziest things! I dont know how I'll ever repay you."

Will blushed. "Thank you mike, lets go now thought because people are staring."

Mike laughed and the two walked off together.

One day you will know the truth mike, its just too risky for you to know now. I might get killed, or worse, you could get hurt.
